Lawyers Practice Training in Palau;
Palau and Guam Chief Justices to Participate

Chief Justice F Philip Carbullido of Guam, in coordination with Chief Justice Oldiais Ngiraikelau of Palau, announce their participation in the Pacific Judicial Council’s 2022 American College of Trial Lawyers Trial Practice Training, which will be conducted from November 9 to 11, 2022 at the Ngarachamayong Cultural Center in Palau. The training will include sessions addressing a myriad of topics, including ethics and civility in the practice of law, juvenile justice reform, best trial practices for complicated civil matters, high profile cases, and cases involving pro se litigants. Panels will feature representatives from the Judiciaries and Bar Associations of Guam and Palau. The American College of Trial Lawyers is comprised of attorneys from the United States and Canada who have “demonstrated the very highest standards of trial advocacy, ethical conduct, integrity, professionalism and collegiality.” The Pacific Judicial Council’s member jurisdictions include the judiciaries of Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, the Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. It strives to provide training to judges, court leaders, lawyers, court interpreters, and other court personnel to ensure the effective, efficient, and ethical provision of justice throughout its jurisdictions.
