Nearly all flights to Palau suspended

Nearly all international flights to Palau will be suspended next week with few remaining ones in March, inadvertently locking down Palau from outside world.

Yesterday China Airlines announced suspension of all its flights from March 26 to April 19 between Palau and Taiwan.

In addition, United Airlines also announced that its Guam-Palau-Manila and Manila-Palau-Guam route will be suspended after March 21st. United Airlines will also cut its flights to only once a week flight to Palau after March 26th.

Korean Air flights are also suspended until further notice and Asiana flights will be suspended from March 26 to April 19.

Caroline Islands Airline (CIA) flights between Palau and Yap will be once a week, a Friday/Saturday flight.

Japan Airlines last charter operations for March 20, 24 and 28 will remain. Other airlines such as T-Way, Skymark, Skyangor and Lanmei have no charter operations at this time.

After the 26th of March, the only scheduled international flight to Palau will be United Airlines once a week schedule between Guam and Palau.

The COVID-19 pandemic has crippled the entire world travel industry and Palau is reassessing its earlier assumptions for FY 2020.
