Shifting of chiefs in CID and DOC
April 25, citing a crisis at the Division of Corrections, Julio Ringang, Acting Director of the Bureau of Public Safety announced that he was temporarily reassigning Chief Richard Ngiratrang of Criminal Investigations Division to Division of Corrections and Chief Aloysius Alonz of the Division of Corrections to the Criminal Investigations Division. The assignment takes effect immediately.
“Together, we have identified some of the problems that may have caused recent incidents at the Koror Jail and we have agreed to take action to address and control such incidents,” stated Ringang in a memorandum to both chiefs Ngiratrang and Alonz.
According to the memorandum, this assignment will be for three (3) months, at which time, they will discuss further action.
This shift in Chiefs of both divisions comes as result of events at the Koror Jail, including the recent fighting between inmates resulting in serious injuries and finding a gun in the prison cell of an inmate.
