Danka's photos of Jenine Desidario from Rotary 16th Anniversary Fundraiser Concert in Palau

Jenine Desiderio, from the Philippines. She agreed in advance to come to Palau and sign at the Rotary Anniversary fundraiser concert. It was heavily promoted locally. In particular, it was notable that she had sang the lead "Kim" in "Miss Saigon" in London for four years. The day before she was to fly here, her father passed away; still she went to the airport to fly here. She was not allowed to board, as her passport had less than six months remaining. She managed to get a ticket on another airline and fly to Guam, and spent the night working with local Rotarians to get a government waiver for Continental, even though it was Continental that had not noticed the 6-month problem earlier. She arrived on a smaller airline (Fly Guam) in the late afternoon, did her sound check, and pulled off the concert like a pro. She was filled with energy and sang beautifully. I told her she was amazing.
