This isn't good advice, but I didn't read a single book, got an A in the class, and a 4 on the AP exams. I read a lot of Sparknotes though.

Again, this isn't good advice.

Ahaha, a lot has to do with me working solely for the grade and nothing else. I didn't get as much out of the class as other people did, which I sort of regret, but unfortunately I was way too busy in high school to read much. (Don't tell Ms. Wilson!)

By the way, who is this? You have a very nice-looking lj.

Oh I'm Jennifer Lee. You probably don't know me. But I was in Beta Club with you when you were our inspirational speaker! I'm friends with Jennifer Wang if you know her.

Thanks lol I happen to like my layout!

are you kidding? I read every book (well, only the prologue of canterbury tales, and half of paradise lost) and I worked hard for my A and my 4. although, I should have gotten a 5, my book essay was bad b/c I had one planned out and then realized that I might have misread the topic so I switched novels at the last minute. :)

I prepared 3 books the night before for my AP exam, one primary and two secondaries. I got really lucky because the essay topic was almost perfect - my primary was 1984, and the question had something to do with society and acting outwardly one way and feeling inwardly another.

Oh, and I had actually read 1984, which also helps!

Ours was about a "country setting" and how it affected the novel. The problem is that no one really understood for sure if they meant the countryside or a nation. I had this whole essay planned out about A Lesson Before Dying and how if you take it out of the South where it was set, the whole meaning would be lost, etc. We'd actually talked about this in class, and I had my essay planned out exactly which is not normally the case for me, and I re-read the topic one more time and I was like "oh crap, it means nation" and so I was stuck writing about A Tale of Two Cities and I didn't have enough time or enough thoughts to plan a good essay.

ha ha, I'm still frustrated over this. I need to learn how to get over things.
