A couple of weeks ago, a friend who was inspired by another friend posted something about finding things to do before turning 40. there were several responses about triathlons and sky diving, and I thought, "Well, you can't do that 40 times," and I started thinking about things I could do to enrich myself that I keep putting off for one reason and another. I posted it as a list for her, but I was thinking of a list for myself, and since I don't have that much time before I turn 40, I decided maybe it was a list of things to do before I'm done being 40. It included things like:
- Try a new cuisine
- Take a cooking class
- Take a long weekend somewhere You've always wanted to go
- Finish a project you've abandoned
- Call a friend you haven't talked to in a long time
- Go to a national park
- ...?
There may have been others. So I took my own advice to heart. I (1.) contacted an old friend I hadn't talked to in a long time and (2.) arranged to meet her for a long weekend in New York City to (3.) see another old friend in a Broadway (Tony Award winning!) musical. #3 wasn't technically on my list, but I think that now that I've arranged to do it, I should add it.
Also, I (4.)got some backing for the baby quilt I started making for the iBoo before she was born. Now it's pinned and waiting for me to find the rest of the parts for my sewing machine (or buy replacements).
What else should go on my list?
I'm thinking of scuba certification, trip to Yellowstone NP, trip to Glacier NP, trip to New Orleans, trip to Sedona (that's a lot of trips :-\), knife skills class... I suppose I've already accomplished "Acquire great kids." What else?
