The past few days had been bizarre, to say the least. Things had been perfectly normal and down right comfortable until the reunion at Hogwarts. Maybe that was to be expected since Hogwarts had always had a way of turning things upside down. He hadn't even spoken to ten people the whole night, getting wrapped up in Lavender not long after he

She had been int eh same year as the Patil twins and had been dorm mates with Padma until they were pulled out sixth year. She had wanted to reach out and contact her old school mate but she felt it was be uncomfortable and she was already surrounded by people she was a whole lot closer with. And that's what she needed. In due time, Mandy would reach out but she had been through a situation like that with her father and didn't want to overbear her.
She still made it to the bistro before Roger and took up a table for them and stared at the door waiting for him, letting her mind wander away. She was so grateful for Roger in her life. He had been an great brotherly figure to her and she felt she could talk to him about anything. She enjoyed these visits when he was around and loved hearing about his life. When he came in about three minutes later and made his little comment she couldn't help but smile, he knew her way to well.
She got up and hugged him, "Oh you know me. I can't live without seeing you. I can't go through Davies withdrawals."

"I know. It's why I haven't stood you up in at least a month." Actually, it had probably been longer, but Roger tended to get his schedule all confused and double booked other appointments with times he was going to see Lily, who always won out there. He should really look into hiring someone to take care of that.
"How've you been? Did you make it to the reunion?" He really should have looked before he got distracted.

She was never one to hold grudges of Roger's missed lunches. She knew that the was very busy and that his daughter was very important to him. She was used to her personality and the way he worked by now she she just shook it off. Now if it was a boyfriend and he was leaving her to see another girl, that would be a different story.
Oh good, he brought up the reunion and not the murder that took place, that made her feel better. "I did make it to the reunion. I mingled and such, nothing to exciting happened to me. It was nice to see some people tough," she said and quickly ordered a water from the waitress before moving on. "Other than that I'm well. We've been looking over some artifacts from Mexico a team sent back, and thankfully no accidents yet. What about you?"

"What kind of artifacts? Something that's going to rewrite history?" Roger always teased her about it, but he was actually quite impressed with Mandy's line of work. It was definitely interesting, at least most of the time. Maybe it was just the Ravenclaw in him.
"The reunion wasn't bad." What he'd seen of it, anyway. "I haven't been doing much. Practice. I'm going to see Lily later. More practice. Reunion. Had sex with Lavender. Practice again." Maybe if he slipped it in quickly enough, she'd let it go and he could say but I did tell you! when she heard from somewhere else.

She was taking a sip of her drink while she listened to him talk about his time and chocked a bit when she heard a certain part. Once she stopped coughing she looked over at him, "Roger you didn't!" This could cause some drama.

Roger gave her a wink and was ready to ramble on about this thing or that when he was mildly concerned Mandy may honestly be choking to death. "Are you all right?" But then he sighed "Yes, I did. And it's not going to be a problem. And you can stop giving me that look. You know I hate it." Over the years, Mandy had developed the same disapproving look his actual sisters gave him.

"How do you feel it won't be a problem? You have a child with another woman! Who you slept with after you and Lav had problems!"
She ran a hand in her hair, she had to trust him.

Technically, he wasn't wrong. They had been over for much, much longer than that.
"I really think it'll be fine. We're going to be together all the time anyway," Roger shrugged. "She's shooting the Magpies practices and matches. If it didn't happen now, it was going to eventually anyway." That much he was entirely certain of. He may have been surprised at the time, but there was just no way Roger and Lavender could be around each other and not together.
It just wasn't in the cards for them. If they didn't have continents and millions of miles between them, they'd always be drawn together.

She bit her lip as she listened to him, a horrible habit she had really, but she did it a lot and well it was to late to change that habit now. She sighed and knew he had a point. She had seen them interact with each other enough times to know that they couldn't be away from each other.
She reached over, grabbed his hand and gave it a squeeze, "Roger you know I love you and I'll support you whatever okay? I trust you. Just please be smart about this?"

Roger squeezed her hand back and there was a reason he had conversations like this with Mandy instead of, say, Eddie. "Thank you. I appreciate it. I'm always smart. At least 85% of the time," Roger grinned.
He let go of Mandy's had and leaned back. "Besides, what could really go wrong now that hasn't already?"
