New Years Resolutions

Jan 16, 2004 16:57

I made some new years resolutions. I think it is a tradition that I was introduced to when I was about four or five, as far back as I can remember new years's anyway. So, as usual, I made some this year. Part of the tradition, as I was introduced to it, is that you look at last years new years resolutions, and see how you did (or didn't) and plan to do better this year. In the past years, I have tried to make my new years resolutions during the week between christmas and new years eve. This way I would have them all ready to go on new years day.

Well, this year I decided to do things a bit differently. I waited until it was actually the new year to start thinking about my new years resolutions. No I am not just procrastinating, and making excuses, it was a deliberate decision, made before christmas(2003), that this year(2003) I would wait until next year(2004) to make next years(2004) resolutions.

(That was a bit confusing because I am writing this in 2004, but speaking about the future(present), from the past. I am sure there are folks who know how to do this and make it make sense, but I am not one of them at the moment.)

So, what are my new years resolutions? I have not finished making them yet. My deadline is the end of January. I can say for sure what a few of the things that are going to end up on the finished list will be, but, I am not finished yet.

1) Make at least One Million Dollars in 2004.
2) Start working on robotics projects again.
3) Stop working for a paycheck. (This needs some further explanation, later.)
4) Exercise every day.

When I am done, this will not be just a hand full of bullet items on an outline, I will have a paragraph or two explaining what each of these things entails, and why they are important. This will probably be a 3 or 4 page document when I am done with it. I will also list some of the *good ideas* which I chose not to put on the list this year as well.
