From St Helens, I've road down the West coast of Tasmania, and am currently in Swansea (Seaswan?) Along the way I rode to St. Mary, up St. Mary's Pass. Really nice town, very artsy. Then down the Elephant pass, which was quite crazy. It was so high, my ears popped at the bottom!
Stayed at a free campsite at chain of lagoons. The next day I rode to Freycinet National park, meeting up with a group of 5 cyclists at Bicheno. Did the Wineglass beach hike at Freycinet the next day. Throughly rained on the next morning, ended up packing everything up wet and heading off. Got a ferry from a cool old guy called Kirk (captain Kirk) across to nine mile beach, where I rode to Swansea, doing battle with a significant Tasmanian rainstorm.
Freycinet was beautiful. The park is a series of mountains on a peninsula on the sea.
Today I hope to get to Maria Island!
I've taken to eating Kiwis with the skins on. You should try it, it's like eating an apple!
