So
Today I had the day off and did DIY-no not that sort, the proper sort with paint and nails and the like. I think after over 20 years of being a house owner I'm finaly getting the hang of it. Evertyhing i got up stayed up ( which at my age is an achivement) and everything that had to go went quietly with a minimum of fuss.
Last night a mindflayer/roper stunned me, sapped me of strenth and then sucked out my brain. But dont fret cos I got better (thanks CHI ! ) but I think that I'll leave the front line to the front line from now on. On wenesday I shall mostly begin to play Susan's game. Its always a bit worrying playing with a new ref but I dont think I've ever helped to "pop a refs cherry" before without it going well. I am often surprised by a new refs inventivness, just when you think you've played (d&d) it all, the new ref will present you with a viewpoint on reffing that you've not seen before and often although you are playing the same old system you get a brand new experiance.
I sat down and listened to my Maddies's piano practice today-and for thr first time i thought "god , she can realy play" Margaret and I have thought that as far as education goes if maddie can leave 6th form being able to a) play an instumant b) speak a foreign language (appart from "Cock a nee") 3) really understand science and 4) be confident enough to stand up on stage (without a pole) and speak ,that we would have given her a good start in life, and so far so good. Now if only we could get her away from Manga, LOTR, RPG's, Scuzz and The Highschool musical we might have a chance at getting a decent dowry!
Off to bed where i fully expect the paint fumes to give an evening of colorfull dreams
