*wipes brow*
Listen. It was actually a lot harder to contemplate that short story, in keeping it short, than it was to start trying to work out a longer and much more complex story. I'm not entirely sure what that means.
The challenge was fun, though. Which is the point, of course.
I wanted to include the line:
"Just... come on, Dief." Ray stopped himself when he realized he was pleading with the dog--er, half-wolf. Whatever. The canine companion to his missing partner. But Dief and Ray just wouldn't have it. And I couldn't get it to fit in. As it was, I purposely went back to cut out words and lines so I could get it under a thousand.
My voices were off. Obviously. *cringes* But over-all, I'm not too terribly displeased by my first completed work in dS fiction. *nods in satisfaction*
I started this close to the beginning of the challenge and I was rather intimidated by Dirty Diana's story, which included a Ray who spoke to Diefenbaker. For a while, I considered not finishing mine, but... well, I had to. And it turned out well enough, for what it is.
