It is 1:31am and I wish I knew where my mind was.

Unhappily, searchs of the normal middle-of-the-night gutters hasn't managed to unearth it. I've been checking for two days for the new challenge at ds_flashfiction, waiting somewhat impatiently because there is just something so very -fun- about them.

When I noticed it was up tonight, about an hour ago, I was excited, but I wasn't expecting an idea to form that quickly and easily. Most likely, it was too easy and came out as drivel, but at this time, I'm in no condition or mood to censor myself. Not the wisest of choices, but one I can live with.

I'd like to write something other than F/K. It's one of my favorite pairings, true, and it was definitely my first, but it is in no way the only pairing of which I'm fond. That said, I might try to write for the challenge again, or I might just try something else.

At the moment, because of NaNo and my multiple fandom nature, I lack time and attention to write anything long, so I might try to do flashfic-sized stories of a general nature, or with other pairings. Or I might just write F/K.

When I cannot watch the episodes I have, I've been reading transcripts on my computer, downloaded from the Real Due South page. It's an excellent resource and I find myself reading through them like I do fanfiction. It brings home to me how important dialogue is in the Due South universe, because even with the sparsity of prose (non-dialogue action) in the transcripts, I can become immersed, I can see these characters.

And they're beautiful, but I believe that's rather well-known.
