Ohayao Office Lady Resistance Shame, for those of you who are new this site, was a web-comic I put together awhile back. There was a misguided sequel that was never finished, all I've got really are the first two installments and some storyboards. That was back when this whole blogging thing was new to me and I was prone to taking risks.
The piece was criticized for being "incomprehensible," by some. aum's been criticizing me for ever letting it go.
The images were made using woquinonoin's Nikon CoolPix 2500 with a few capsule toys and a couch. The images were then filtered through an open source image manipulation program known as The Gimp. This move was criticized for being distracting, but I thought it lent an impressionistic feel to the work, which the story itself definitely called for. Frankly, I still haven't seen anything that looks anything like it.
Unfortunately, both characters were mauled by the dog. Their remains are either somewhere in Taipei, or West Virginia.
The couch which served as the backdrop to Mari and Ritsuko's harrowing tale of alienated labor, sublimated lesbianism, Sarin-tripping, and gnosis was defecated upon by said animal, and currently resides in our old apartment on MinQuan.
I never thought the piece got the attention it deserved, really. Primarily because I was too pussy to do anything to promote my work. If anyone reading this would care to comment, I'd love to hear any kind of feedback. Anyone who knows of a place that shows crap like this is more than welcome to pass the link around.
I rarely talk about my work, so there you go. The other thing I'll say is that I've been doing a considerable amount of behind-the-scenes work with my site and I'm getting ready to draw everything together and take it all to the next level, so to speak.
Obviously, I'm replying to you, Seth, as if others might catch some of this. That doesn't seem very likely to me, but I like dropping little clues, here and there.
