Ahh.. there's a great second-second-second string cinema near me that plays old and/or camp movies (Cat People, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Faster Pussycat Kill Kill!, etc) on Saturday night, for five dollars. When I went to see Cat People (the later version with Malcome McDowel) they had a preview for Altered States (And Mara, the untamable, or something, and other vintage movies). The preview made it look intriguing, thank you for confirming that it's not, not really.

Yeah, I don't think this would make for much of a cinematic experience. If you can sit around with some friends and pull bong rips or pound Coors and laugh at it without getting too distracted by the patterns on the couch, I'd say that's the ideal setting. Those second-cubed theaters are great. There's one by my house, now, but they've yet to screen anything as balls-out as a Russ Meyer flick.

Thanks for writing!
