Google Maps says that Taiwan is a province of China.
This, understandably, made the front of page of the Taipei Times, recently. Today, Google's response was
printed. The gist of their response was that they only follow the U.N.'s take on territorial boundaries and such.
Behind the cut is a letter I've drafted and sent to Goodle. You will also find a link to Google's customer service department, where you can send this letter. By all means, you are free to modify this letter in any way. . . or, better yet, write your own. I would appreciate it if regular readers took this opportunity to get involved with the eventual overthrow of a group of despotic bastards.

Mail here. To Whom It May Concern,
It has come to my attention that your service, Google Maps, currently lists Taiwan as a province of China. The question of Taiwan's international status is a highly contested issue, and this brief message is only a request that you examine the facts of the issue and, perhaps, reconsider your present position.
It is well-known that your company has recently established some very lucrative ties with the un-elected, un-democratic, and un-just Chinese Communist Party. It goes without saying that you will be directly responsible for the censorship of free speech and dissemination of disinformation and propaganda. You will have to do a lot more that is dishonest and intellectually churlish than merely change the names of a few countries on a few maps. You may even "have" to go so far as helping the Chinese Communist Party commit acts such as kidnapping, torture and murder.
However, you could--at the very least--take a look at the issue of Taiwanese sovereignty and, if your findings should run counter to those of the Chinese Communist Party-influenced U.N.'s, let the freer world outside of China know for certain whose side you are on.
Both History and God will be the judge of those who have and have not done any evil.
Sincerely,
