Summary: A not-so-chance encounter and a case of mistaken identity leaves Chloe with certain impressions.
Note: Oh noes! I wrote a Chlollie fic! lmao Don't worry... Chlark is still my main ship... as seen in certain parts of this story. Be gentle with me on this one, please... you'll see why I ask. This story is meant to be a "deleted scene" from Hydro, taking place the same day...or night, actually...as Chloe's last scene in the episode.

Falling out, falling out
Have you ever wondered
If this was ever more
Than a crazy idea
Falling out, falling out
Have you ever wondered
What we could've been...

Chloe sighed as she walked down the stairs that led into the Daily Planet's basement.

It'd been one hell of a day, and she was more than just exhausted. Well, really... it'd been a whole week of those type of days, but those days had seemed to blend together, and she'd gotten very little sleep the entire week. From homicidal gossip columnists who could turn to water to friends thinking you'd betrayed them to having a fight with said gossip columnist that ended in death to finding out that your cousin had kissed the best friend you still might have feelings for-- yeah, it'd been a hell of a week.

Chloe was about to die for some sleep, and hopefully, she'd get it tonight. But first, she had to wrap up some things down here, then meet Jimmy for a quick bite to eat somewhere.

It was dark in the basement this time of night, and there seemed to be shadows everywhere.

Was she scared? No. Chloe wasn't afraid of the dark. She never had been.

But suddenly, she found herself thinking of Clark.

She hadn't been able to tell much from his expression when it'd been brought up, but she wondered-- what had he thought of the kiss he'd shared with Lois? After all, Lois had said that "Green Arrow" had kissed her back. Had Clark enjoyed it? Had it meant anything to him? Clark was so unreadable at times, and this was no exception. He claimed to not be able to stand Lois, and yet he'd supposedly kissed her back. What the hell did that mean?

Chloe inwardly chided herself for her thoughts. She shouldn't even care. She had Jimmy now. And yet she did care.

Ever since Lana had nearly blurted out to her that she was still in love with Clark, Chloe had been fighting her emotions. She'd realized there was a high chance that she, herself, was still in love with Clark. It had been a bit of a difficult discovery, one that had resulted in Chloe getting extremely emotional during an argument with Clark. She'd ended up crying, and when he'd suddenly taken her in his strong arms and hugged her, she'd felt something strike up in her heart that she hadn't really felt in a while.

Chloe shook her head, trying to shove her thoughts aside.

As she neared her desk, she heard a noise, and looked up.

She could have sworn she saw someone standing in the shadows, but couldn't quite make out the person's face.

"Jimmy? Is that you?" The words popped out of her mouth, and she took a step towards the hidden person.

An arm reached out, and suddenly yanked her into the darkness.

She gasped slightly, startled, as she found her small body crushed against someone clad in leather.

What in the HELL?

That was the only thought she could muster before a pair of hot lips crashed down upon hers.

She let out another gasp, this one muffled, but soon felt her widened eyes fall shut, and a small noise of surrender fill her throat.

Whoever this guy was, he was a hell of a kisser. He was better than Jimmy, and almost rivaled Clark. If she didn't feel the way she did about Clark, something different could potentially have been said.

His lips pressed against hers sent an electric shock up her spine, and she couldn't help but wonder what else this stranger kissing her in the dark could do to her.

As good as this felt, Chloe didn't like not knowing whose tongue was brushing over her lips, and her hands soon found the mysterious man's face.

As she slowly opened her mouth for him, tilting her head a little, she realized there was something like leather around his face. Could it be... a leather hood?

Chloe felt a little tingle shoot up her spine as his tongue touched hers.

This mysterious stranger kissing her in the shadows wasn't a stranger after all.

She was kissing the Green Arrow.

The REAL Green Arrow.

Chloe was kissing Oliver Queen.

Lois entered her mind, and she thought of how wrong this was, but that thought soon faded as she felt a surge of desire go through her.

To hell with it.

Lois had kissed Clark, so why the hell couldn't she kiss Ollie?

It made sense to Chloe.

It also made her completely forget her own boyfriend.

The nerdy little dork of a boyfriend who was probably waiting outside the building for her right now.

Who the hell in their right mind would give a damn about that in a moment like this, when they were wrapped up in the arms of an extremely hot billionaire/superhero who just happened to have his tongue shoved down their throat?

Chloe didn't.

For the first time in months, she did not give a damn about Jimmy, or the fact that he could be waiting for her outside.

When her kissing attacker broke the kiss and took a step back, she actually whimpered, her body suddenly craving so much more than a kiss.

"Now the real reporter in the family can say she kissed the Green Arrow, too." His deepened voice in the darkness sent another shiver up her spine.

As he stepped out of the shadows, Chloe grabbed at his arm.

He turned to face her, and she smirked up at him. "You mean... the real reporter of the family kissed the real Green Arrow... right, Mr. Queen?"

He let out a deep laugh, sounding amused. He reached up, taking his glasses off, and lowered the hood.

Oliver Queen smirked back at her. "You're a smart girl, Chloe. Maybe a little too smart." He eyed her for a moment, as if he was checking her out, and then reached out to run a few gloved fingers over her cheek. "Are you sure you're related to Lois?"

She let out a soft giggle at his joke. "Don't worry, Mr. Queen... I'm the resident secret keeper. I won't be telling anyone."

"Clark's lucky to have you. I hope he realizes that." He realized his true meaning would be lost to Chloe, but it didn't matter.

Within only a minute, the hood and glasses were back in place, and he was gone.

Chloe smiled to herself as she walked back over to her desk.

And as she finished what she'd needed to finish, she realized why Lois and Clark had had the reactions that they'd had to their own kiss.

Chloe could now say she knew the thrill of kissing someone who could have easily been a stranger in the dark. There was something... daring to it. It showed an adventurous side.

Chloe could now say she knew the thrill of kissing someone who was not hers. There was something daring to it as well, but the point of it was to see if you held any sort of interest in the other person, in any way.

Chloe could now say, as she remembered the look on Clark's face from before, that he had no interest in Lois. He'd possibly enjoyed the kiss, but that didn't mean he was interested in her. Maybe the sparks just hadn't flown for him.

Chloe could now say that if things had been different, she'd definitely be interested in Oliver Queen. Maybe she could have never loved him, as she loved Clark, but she'd have been interested, at least.

And as he watched her leave with her boyfriend a while later, Oliver made a silent decision.

Even if he left town any time soon, which he fully expected, that would not be the only kiss he'd share with Chloe Sullivan.

Chloe Sullivan had not seen the last of Oliver Queen.

At least on that very personal, very... private level.
