STAR WARS like you've never seen it before! And an incoherent book rec

Oh my word, this is hilarious and exactly what I needed after reading Catalyst by Laurie Halse Anderson which I now see a lot of people on GoodReads did not get at all and think is one of her lesser works, but I so disagree or I will if I can only stop sobbing long enough to draw breath, uh, where was I?

Oh, yeah:

WARNING WARNING SPOILERS FOR CATALYST BLOOP BLOOP rj_anderson January 17 2009, 18:07:17 UTC
I've definitely read some modern teen "problem novels" I thought were nasty and unpleasant with little to redeem them, but I didn't feel that way about Catalyst, for sure. The things that happen in the book and the revelations that come out along the way are definitely unpleasant at times, but I felt that they were necessary to shift the reader's sympathies and shock Kate out of her self-absorption. They also serve to shock the reader along with Kate into recognizing just how insignificant her rejection from MIT is (after all, we've been invited to identify with her hurt and desperation from the beginning, and this is a pretty radical shift) and to recognize how warped and selfish her priorities are by contrast to what Teri has suffered and lost ( ... )

Thanks for the warnings on Catalyst. I have entered a period of my life where extremem angst (i.e. "well-written") is too tough to take so I needed to know that you spent hours crying and needed to "get over" the book. I just finished Hunger Games and it was an incredible read, but it was almost too much for me right now. I'm afraid to read the sequel as I'm feeling too bad for Peeta right now--which is NOT Kat's fault, but mine. ;-)
