It is just as I always suspected. THE DELGADO MASTER IS MADE OF WIN.

What I did not expect was to find that Jo Grant is also MADE OF WIN. She has great fashion sense, can communicate effectively by doing charades, take a man twice her size in a badly choreographed fight -- no, wait, make that three men twice her size each in two badly ( Read more... )

Jo's brilliant, and I have much, much love for her. On the other hand, Katy Manning is just crazy, and is seen far too often wearing see-through shirts.

Jo's a bit like Rose, in that when she's good, she's very very good. When the writers flake, sadly, so does she. Give her something to do ("Mind of Evil" springs to, er, mind), and she kicks butt.

Some of the ditzy rep may be from her character's lack of glasses, as Katy Manning is supposedly blind as a bat without them.

Katy Manning is nuts. She was over here a couple of years ago, in a Dr Who "talk show" I saw as the theatre. I think she lives in Australia now. And all she talked about was getting a "man" and seemed to be stuck playing the ditsy blond in real life!
