He is so good in this. So good. That last bit, when he finally talks to Martha; the restraint melting away in little bits . . . thing of beauty. Gridlock is one for the ages by merit of writing and direction and conecept and supporting cast alone, but oh he is so good in this and he's THE DOCTOR full-time now.

(still sekritly loyal to Nine but supports Ecclestonian smackdowns)

Also, Martha is rapidly becoming my favorite companion ever. It's actually a little scary.

I still feel it's early days yet, but I like how she's being allowed to be clever and resourceful while still having the Doctor be the one who saves the day.

Help me out here! Where (satellite) or on what network are you watching the new season? I just got hooked at the end of last season and have yet to catch any new ones on the sci-fi channel on DishNetwork.

They aren't being aired in North America yet, alas. I'm sure they'll start S3 fairly soon, though. It seems to have developed a strong following.

RTD's problem is that he needs adult supervision.

He can be quite good with set pieces, individual moments, and even moods: lots of his one or two-person scenes are quite affecting when he's trying to be. Unfortunately something happened at age eleven to his sense of humour, which was permanently stunted. This can bring episodes in which he's shown glimpses of creative excellence to breaking point and beyond (such as in Love & Monsters.)

Simply put: he needs an editor.

More specific: he needs a Cuddy.

Well said, whoever you are. :)

And ugh, please don't remind me of Love & Monsters. *shudder*
