Amaryllis certainly sounds like the kind of name it makes sense to change to upon taking the throne, but what does it explain? Or is this the sort of thing I shouldn't ask?
The answer isn't especially spoilerish. Just that it explains why she was open to Knife taking an unconventional name for herself (she changed her name from Bryony to Knife on becoming a Hunter), and also why Knife couldn't find any mention of Amaryllis in the faery histories (since she was going by another name at the time).
I am not terribly spoiler-sensitive, but I didn't know whether it was something you might not want to explain... or if it might require too much explanation!

I haven't told you lately how much you rock.
Well, you do. :)

I rock? Oh, thank you! I am not sure what I did to deserve the compliment, but I appreciate it, all the same.

Keeping on with writing is one of them. Especially when those pesky characters keep surprising you.

from Wikipedia: "Moly is a wild European plant of the lily family also called Golden Garlic or Lily Leek (Allium moly)."
I knew a little girl named Amaryllis, called Rillie or Rilla for short.

Wonder if any of this fits in with the character? Looking forward to finding out. 8-)
