Subject|Pairing: Jane Rizzoli
Title: I'm Not An Angry Girl
Warnings: The first song is a bit raunchy, but other than that...
Notes: Got an assist from
ginger_gray on this one. She knows more about R&I than any sane person should. Please comment if you're taking. I know people are downloading, I have a counter, I just wish you'd all tell me who so I can thank you.
Boys Want to Be Her - Peaches
Jane was always a Tomboy. She was better at most things than the boys were. Even at being a Detective. All the boys wish they were half the cop she was.
Not a Pretty Girl - Ani DiFranco
The song IS Jane. It's also where the title for the CD comes from and there's a reason for that. She's strong and she doesn't need help and she's no "damsel in distress". The men who come through in her life may think she is, but she proves them wrong very quickly.
Again and Again - Bird & Bee
This is Agent Gabriel Dean's song. No matter how terrible he is to her or what he does, she continues to go back to him, even letting him into her heart a bit. I'm not a fan of Agent Dean or how he uses Jane, but she's a part of his life and deserves some time on this mix.
Cops and Robbers - A to Z
This song is pure hilarity really. It will get stuck in your head and you'll sing it for hours without even realizing it. Jane Rizzoli is a cop. Jane Rizzoli shoots a gun. Jane Rizzoli catches bank robbers. That's really all there is to it.
Alone - Heart
This is for Casey, AKA Jane's military man. They really love each other, but neither are brave enough to admit to such. Finally discovering his injury, she told him she doesn't care and just wants to be with him.
You Learn - Alanis Morissette
As life and love go on, Jane realizes she must conform herself to such. She realizes she has to experience everything or her life is essentially meaningless. So she must live and learn instead of being stuck on her sofa groveling about everything.
My Same - Adele Adkins
Jane's feelings about her friendship with Maura. They are complete opposites, but when it comes down to it, they love one another for their differences and are really the same when it comes to their friendship.
Home Is Where You're Happy - Charles Manson
Yes, THAT Charles Manson. A lot of people don't know that before becoming a crazy murder monger, old Charlie actually wrote songs for the Beach Boys. He also wrote some for himself and wasn't a bad singer. I use the past tense because I'm not exactly a friend of Charlie Manson and obviously don't know of his current singing abilities. This song is just that no matter where Jane is living or is, her home is wherever she's most comfortable. Usually work.
Sweet Jane - Cowboy Junkies
Very Jane, and quite ironic that it has her name in the title. This has hints to her thoughts of Casey, but is just saying she doesn't do things for the worst outcome, she does things that make her happy so she'll have the best outcome and wishes it could be different.
That's Life - Frank Sinatra
Life's a bitch and then you die. When life gets you down, you just have to pick yourself back up and carry on because That's Life. You can't expect the best, just hope it isn't the worst and move on. Jane tries to do this and succeeds most times, especially where her job is concerned.
