So spring break is over, and to recap somewhat briefly..the three countries I went to were chill as shit..Greece was absolutely amazing, and Athens immediately reminded me of being back in India, sleeping in hostels that remind me of some relatives' houses, hearing people dry their clothes by banging it on a large stone, walking around side streets, all of that...I would love to go back sometime soon. The food was beautiful--just eating whenever, eating whatever, drinking Ouzo at every meal. The sightseeing..it was breathtaking to realize that we were walking along the same paths as those who founded the concept of democracy..relaxing on a pier on a Greek island and getting almost very very black due to the 85 degree weather..
Turkey probably was my favorite place, though the 24 hour train ride getting there couldve been way better...but its all part of the whole budget traveling thing I suppose..but Istanbul was simply beautiful..the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar...smoking hookah, drinking turkish tea, eating kebabs..all of that..then the train ride back was amazing, since it was a 2 person private sleeper with comfortable beds and tables, sinks, bathrooms, etc..good old Friendship Express.
Italy..well I've already been to the places we went to, but it was fun going 6 years later, 6 years older..all of that good stuff. Milan, Florence, Rome, Venice..shopping, eating, table wine. Good shit..
Definitely good to be back in London for the next 3 weeks, then will definitely be amazing to be back in Maryland..this semester has partly gone by mad slow, and at times has gone by way too fast...but thats the same with life I guess..
I got all of the classes I wanted for my schedule, which means that I get out of class at 10:45 every day for the entirety of the semester, and from september to october, on Mondays and Wednesdays I have a 2 credit class from 11-1215, but after october it is no more..so that should be pretty sweet..get to class in the morning, finish up by whatever time, and then hit the gym for 2 hours after that, then go home and study and what not..
Work starts on the Monday I get back--the 22nd..so that should be good, Kevin's gonna be working with me in a different department so that could potentially be bad if we just goof off..but then my boss is giving me the option of overtime, so maybe I'll do that and get some more money..who knows.
Anyway, off to work..or hardly work, whatever it is.
