WuFan closes his laptop and tilted his head a little, he was being chased by deadline and he didn’t have a clear idea for his new novel. He never thought that being a novelist would be this hard. He sighs and glanced at the clock hanging on the wall of his bedroom. 6 AM. And wow, he didn’t actually pay attention at his surrounding to the point that he didn’t even realize that the sun has rose. He blink a few times, trying to process the fact that he just wasted 12 hours only to wrote 10 pages for his new novel. WuFan slowly walked to his bed, he feel like resting.

He was just about to close his eyes when his phone rang, as if it’s screaming at him to pick it up. WuFan took a look at the caller ID before deciding to accept or reject it. “那小子”. WuFan rolled his eyes and accepted it.

“What’s with the call, Han?” WuFan asked. Feeling slightly annoyed because his eyes began to felt really heavy. Then he heard LuHan-the caller-mumbles some incoherent words and ended with “I’m sorry, I really do.”, and all he could say in response was “Huh?” because honestly he can’t even get why LuHan was apologizing. There’s a long silent before the other repeated what he just said,

“I lost your USB, the one with your writing files in it...”

“And by lost you mean...?”

“I put it somewhere in my house, and by the next day, it was already gone-” and before LuHan could even finishes his word, WuFan already ended the call. Rushing to other boy’s place.

#####

And so, he spent all his morning and afternoon in LuHan’s small apartment, searching for his USB. He wouldn’t be this worried if the USB doesn’t contain all his writings, from the past until now. It contains the result of his sleep-loss, stinging eyes, and headaches due to overworking himself. LuHan borrowed it because he needed to do an essay about novels (“What does that bald asshole-he meant his lecturer, LuHan really likes to call him names-wants?! Such a pain in the ass.” He said when he came to WuFan’s house that day before asking him if he can borrow it), and he thought that analyzing my work could help him. WuFan already had a bad feeling from the start. This kid over here had a thing with things, he often lose them. From the not-so-important things until the important one. Example? He ever lost his car key, and it was found at the back side of his drawer. Or in 6th grade, he ever lost his science book when they have test the next day, and the book was like the... ‘Ticket’... To be allowed to do the test (they have to collect their books, the one who didn’t collect it won’t be allowed to do the test, and the score would be minus ten. Everyone got to admit that their science teacher was one of the strictest and scariest teacher ever). And the book was found right before the science lesson started, it was on his locker, covered by the piles of his dirty socks (WuFan didn’t get why LuHan likes to left his dirty socks on his locker either). Oh and for your information, indeed, LuHan and WuFan had known each other since they were little kids. So WuFan kind of already knew handing one of his most important belongings wasn’t exactly the right thing. But being the good friend he is, he still handed it over anyway. And now his intuition was proved to be true, it was lost. WuFan wonders where exactly it was now.

“You sure you left it here?” LuHan just nodded in respond,

“You sure you didn’t leave it someplace else?” LuHan shook his head surely,

“Where exactly you placed it?” and LuHan went to think before answering,

“Lamp table beside my bed.”

And WuFan goes to the bedroom, checking every side of the lamp table, front, back, left side, right sight, up, and lastly... Down. A question suddenly popped in WuFan’s mind.

“Hey what did you do after you put my USB on the table?” the person whom is being asked tilted his head and blinks,

“I... Took a shower, then I went to sleep.” The answers finally clear up the whole problems, WuFan instantly look under the table. LuHan must have unknowingly flailed his arms while sleeping again, it’s another habit of him since he was young. WuFan ever sleeps with him one time and his face got punched and kicked by none other than LuHan (though he did it unintentionally). LuHan could just shrug the USB off of the table. But the question now: where did it fell? WuFan scans around the bedroom’s carpet-covered-floor carefully, didn’t want to miss a thing, or more specifically, his beloved USB. Under the lamp table: nothing. Under the bed: nothing, just a box of comic books (he hid it there in case his nephews visited him, one of his comic book ever ripped out by his nephews so he kind of traumatized by it). Lastly, he check under the wardrobe, noth... Wait is that- he extend his arms and reach out for the strange looking thing. And he was right, it was his USB. WuFan sigh in glee as he stood up and show the thing he found in front of LuHan’s face.

“Look at what I found,” WuFan state as the boy who stood before him grins and jumps to hug him,

“Uwaaaaaah, thank you WuFan!” LuHan squeals and WuFan rolled his eyes.

#####

“Next time, don’t be panic so easily.” He said before leaving LuHan’s house.

By the time he arrived at home, it’s already 7 PM. Means he had to start writing again before he got scolded by the editor. WuFan felt like collapsing.

And yeah, in the end he didn’t get any sleep. Just try to imagine how dark his eyebags were.
