The directions on the flier weren’t hard to follow. The party was being held in a club that had previously been closed down - as far as he was aware - but was no longer monitored. The pounding music from below wasn’t obvious from street level, but upon descending the hidden - though he didn’t think it was too well - stairway, the bass vibrated along the floors, up through your feet into your body.

The eye patch on his right eye, black with a white lacy trim, to go with the rest of his costume - which matched Kanda’s dress - was itchy, but easy to ignore; he was constantly smoothing down the shirt he was wearing; the shoes were a bit on the uncomfortable side. It really wasn’t something he’d usually wear, but when they’d picked out Kanda’s dress, he’d decided it would be funny if they matched - it also meant that it would make it more obvious that they were together, but he hadn’t thought about that beforehand.

Paying for both his and Kanda’s entrance, he reached for the dark haired man’s hand and tugged him into the massive hall, a grin evident on his face as he headed in the direction of the bar.

He couldn’t actually believe that he’d gotten Kanda to agree to this. The party bit wasn’t too difficult, and he had expected that if he bugged the dark-haired man enough he’d simply give in; the dress part was a completely different matter, he was still in shock that Kanda had actually agreed.

He wasn't happy at all. So much for his dignity, that had gone straight out the window when he'd descended the stairs of his apartment building and his landlord just happened to be standing in the stairwell speaking to another tenant. At first the man didn't recognize him, but seeing Lavi all dressed in Elegant Gothic Aristocrat style holding his hand, the man's eyes bugged under his thick glasses and he grinned, almost lasciviously. Kanda wanted to stab him, but unfortunately he'd left Mugen in his apartment at Lavi's insistence.

The dress that Lavi and Allen had found was quite fitting. It was a black strapless Gothic Lolita style dress decorated with lace and bows in a deep blue. Sleevelets adorned his arms, beginning at his bicep and flaring out in layers of silk and lace. They were longer than his arms, hiding his hands which were enveloped in black lace gloves. The skirt was too short for his liking, scooped up in front above mid thigh and just past his knees in back, held up by a small black farthingale hoop skirt. It flared out around him, easily revealing the garter belt and lacy black stockings he wore beneath. He felt naked.

At least he got something he wanted, because under the dress he wore an adorable pair of knickers, short enough to reveal the garter but enough to at least hide his masculinity. Lavi had found a pair of panties for Kanda to wear beneath, and there would have been bloodshed in the store had Allen and the two sales girls not stepped in. Lavi had insisted he wear them under the knickers. Ugh. Lavi had strange fetishes.

Lavi had decided to do his hair for the occasion, putting it up in pigtails with flowing ribbons to match the little lace headdress that had come with the costume. Makeup had been a chore, since Lavi had insisted on blush, eye shadow, mascara, eye liner and dark blue lipstick. The mascara had nearly ended in disaster. On his feet he wore platform mary janes. They were hard to walk in, and he had stumbled several times on the way to the club. He even had a little lacy purse for change.

Lavi paid his way in and he gave the redhead a glare, reluctantly taking Lavi's hand so as not to kill himself on the stairs. This was going to be a long night.

He had been so tempted to just not go to the party once Kanda was dressed; it had taken restraint he didn’t even know he possessed to not drag the other to the bedroom, or even shove him against the nearest wall, and ravish him. But he’d managed it, and they’d got Kanda’s hair and makeup done and now they were here.

They were already getting looks, well, Kanda was, which really didn’t surprise him in the slightest - the dark-haired man made a very convincing, and damn hot, woman, though he wouldn’t say that out loud. A slight glare at some of the more risqué looks sent in Kanda’s direction and Lavi tugged the other man to the bar, leaning against the end and waiting for the bartender to come and serve them. He had to admit, really, that he couldn’t stop looking to Kanda, making sure the image committed to his memory was perfect.

Smoothing at the black jacket he wore over his ensemble, he sighed softly. He was going to roast in this. The shirt he’d found was white with a ruffled necktie that was already proving to be hot around the neck - though might not be as hot minus the jacket - and the black top hat, that was replacing his usual headband for the evening, was starting to itch a bit, adding to the irritation from the eye patch.

After a few moment waiting the bartender came down to ask what they wanted, the bar apparently not being as busy as it appeared to be, and Lavi ordered himself a rum and coke and then looked to Kanda. “What do you want, Yuu?” He imagined it would be something strong, to take the edge of the humiliation the dress was causing.

Damn it. He was drawing far too much attention for his liking. Almost every single person around him seemed to stare, or perhaps that was just his paranoia that someone may recognize him. He really doubted they would, because he normally didn't go to parties at all. Most people would probably assume he was some chick Lavi picked up, though he wasn't exactly ecstatic about that idea.

Each time someone stared, he met their gaze with an icy glare. That usually sent the onlookers on their way quickly. Anyone who happened to check Lavi out got an even more dangerous glare. It must have been odd, for someone to see a Lolita with a permanent scowl and murderous rage in 'her' eyes. He had to admit Lavi looked extremely sexy in his Gothic Aristocrat costume. He'd get to tear Lavi out of it later, and he smirked.

He glanced up when Lavi spoke. "I don't care what the fuck it is, as long as it's straight and with a proof of at least 40% alcohol. I want something strong, now."

Chuckling, Lavi shrugged and then nodded to the bartender. “You heard him~” He was tempted to say ‘her’ but instead put emphasis on the ‘him’, grinning at the bartender’s reaction, as if Kanda’s voice hadn’t given it away.

As he waited for their drinks to be made up, he glanced down the bar, catching a few people looking in their direction. Most of them looked away when Lavi’s eye met theirs, but there was one guy only a few seats down who was ogling Kanda, clearly thinking he’d found himself a pretty lady.

With a mischievous grin, he trailed one arm around Kanda’s waist, tugging him close, tight against him, and catching his lips in a quick kiss. When he looked back again the guy had turned away. Just as well. He was deciding very quickly that, especially if Kanda kept getting lecherous looks, they wouldn’t be at the party much longer.

Kanda couldn't help but smirk at the bartender's reaction to the timbre of his voice which was clearly male. The man had nodded, then he'd done a double take because the information clearly had not processed the first time. Well, he made a very convincing girl in appearance, at the very least. A shame his voice would give him away the instant he spoke in his low tenor. The bartender prepared his drink swiftly, handing him a Scotch on the rocks. His smirk widened and he took a long swig, downing half the drink in one gulp.

Glancing around he saw one man seemed particularly interested. Obviously the man had not heard his voice over the loud music, but before he could give the man a glare Lavi tugged him closer, giving him a quick kiss. He slid one arm around Lavi's neck, and as he broke away from Lavi he glanced back at the man who'd been checking him out. It seemed the man was now looking away, no longer interested in him. A shame he didn't have Mugen with him. The man seemed to be looking at a woman dressed as Marie Antoinette now.

Their drinks were placed on the bar moments after Lavi broke away from Kanda, and reaching into his wallet - attached by a chain to a belt loop on his black dress trousers - he paid for the drinks and then lifted his glass from the bar top, taking a mouthful and then glancing around the hall. They could sit down at one of the booths set up to finish their drinks and then he’d just have to make Kanda dance with him.

Spotting a free booth somewhat out of the way of the crowd, he grabbed Kanda’s hand again and tugged him through the throng of people, weaving in between them almost artfully, leading him over to the booth and sliding into the seat.

Watching Kanda as he drank, he grinned absently. Kanda didn’t seem to having a bad a time as Lavi had thought he would, but then he didn’t seem to be enjoying himself too much either. “So is it as bad as you thought it would be, Yuu~?”

He nearly lost his balance as Lavi pulled him along behind, weaving through the people to get to a booth that was, thankfully, out of the way. With a huff he sat heavily on the stool, glaring at Lavi. "Must you pull me around like that? It's annoying."

Taking another swig of his drink he looked around the room, noticing the decor for the first time. It was quite fitting really. Cobwebs lined the corners of the room, a machine puffed clouds of smoke out onto the dance floor, skeletons hung on nooses from the ceiling and the shattered mirrors of the abandoned bar really made the place seem like something out of a nightmare. The flickering candlelight only made the atmosphere more eerie, though the flashing lights on the dance floor seemed somewhat out of place.

"If you don't stop dragging me around I'm going to end up with a broken ankle, and if that happens you are going to be more than broken, I assure you." The look that accompanied the threat probably wouldn't affect Lavi, it never did, but he could be damned sure he wouldn't be getting any nookie if Kanda broke anything.

Kanda was huffing and glaring as usual, but Lavi found it more difficult than ever to be threatened by the other; the clothes and makeup dissolved any fear Kanda happened to instil in him - which wasn’t a whole lot as it was. He did understand the underlying message in the other’s threat though and he made a mental note not to drag Kanda around so much. “Yeah, yeah.”

Pulling the top hat off his head and setting it on the table, he ran a hand through his hair - combed back a bit, though even with gel it was still unruly and stuck out in places where the hat hadn’t flattened it - and chuckled to himself at nothing in particular, taking another drink from his glass.

His eye wandered around the room for the third time that evening, taking in the decorations, the band playing on the stage out in front of the dance floor, crowded with people wearing a plethora of different costumes. The atmosphere was decent and the party seemed to be going fine and though he had to admit he’d been to better parties (that one in high school with the strippers just couldn’t be rivalled) this one was still good. And he wasn’t really surprised by how he found it incredibly easy to ignore the numerous rather nice looking women, given that Kanda was sitting beside him looking just as good if not better - his grin stretched at the thought, probably leading Kanda to believe he’d spotted someone who’d caught his attention.

No doubt his glares had little to no effect in this situation and he grunted softly. He didn't want to move from the booth, but even here he was receiving lecherous glances and the occasional waggle of eyebrows. It did seem, however, that his glares worked just fine on anyone but Lavi.

He downed the rest of his Scotch and looked at Lavi. "Go get me more. I'm not walking in these fucking shoes if I don't have to." He closed his eyes and listened to the music. At least that part was good, and this song was quite upbeat and catchy. He tapped a lacy finger on the table to the beat.

Chuckling again, Lavi eyed Kanda’s now empty glass. “If you get drunk it’s only going to make it harder for you to walk yanno, Yuu?” Finishing his own drink, he stood and slid out of the booth, offering a black silk gloved hand to Kanda. “Come and dance with me and then I’ll get you another drink~” He was going to get Kanda to dance with him at least once during the course of the night, and he wanted it to be when the other was still sober and at least a little steady on his feet and Kanda had been tapping his finger to the beat of the song that was playing now, so he figured he may as well try his luck then; it wasn’t like it would kill the other if he danced just once, besides, if the shoes got too bad, he could always walk home barefoot - or Lavi could carry him. If he danced with him now, it also meant he could come to the bar with him, because in all honesty, Lavi didn’t like the idea of someone hitting on Kanda while he wasn’t there.

"Are you crazy?! You actually expect me to dance? And in these fucking clunky shoes no less?" Huffing, he crossed his arms over his chest and gave Lavi his best glare. There was no way he was dancing. Absolutely not! He didn't really need to alert the world that he had two left feet, and it would only be worse if he even attempted to dance in these shoes.

Lavi imagined that if he was a girl right now he would be making some sort of high pitched noise of girlish amusement at the way Kanda looked when he crossed his arms and huffed. As it was he allowed himself a small grin before pouting at the dark-haired man. “Yuu~! You’re no fun!” Then he was grinning again as he turned to look at the crowd, picking out a girl, scantily clad in a school girl uniform that was clearly at least two sizes too small, and pointing to her. “I could always go dance with her. Either way you’re dancing with me tonight~”

He knew this was bait to get him to dance, and his jealousy would get the better of him if he saw Lavi dancing with anyone besides himself, especially the girl he'd pointed to. If she so much as breathed the clothes looked like they would pop open, sending buttons flying in all directions.

Rubbing his temples as if he was getting a headache he stood. "You're not dancing with her." He resisted kissing the pouty lips and made an attempt to walk to the dance floor, stumbling on the platforms with a growl of frustration.

Victory! He knew he was going to be able to use Kanda’s jealous-possessive nature to convince him of most anything, and he was more than willing to use it to his advantage. To be honest, he really wouldn’t have danced with the girl - she wasn’t his type - but if it convinced Kanda then that was all that mattered.

Following after Kanda with an amused grin, he grabbed the other by the elbow then slid his hand down to take his, though instead of tugging Kanda along, he walked beside him. “You’re so easily convinced Yuu~”

Kanda frowned. Threatening to dance with someone else was quickly becoming a habit, and he had to nip it in the bud. Then again, if he refused he would be stuck watching Lavi dance with someone else, and he couldn't have that. That was worse than giving in to Lavi in his eyes, though it proved Lavi could make him do whatever he wanted.

He growled softly at Lavi, but let the redhead take his hand anyway, reaching the dance floor just as a slow song began to play. He thanked whatever deity happened to be looking down on him, because this way he wouldn't have to move too fast with the clunkers on his feet.
