He was sure that in the last five seconds his chances of being killed by a grumpy, sleep deprived, sword wielding Japanese man had risen considerably. Regardless, he didn't let go of Kanda or move back, nor did his grin fade. Instead, a chuckle fell from his lips and he kissed Kanda's cheek again, ignoring the looks sent in their direction by various people, including a couple of people who had come through the barriers with Kanda.

"So~ How was it? I was bored and lonely without you around!" That was a lie, given that he'd spent the whole weekend with Allen composing and playing music and had continued that throughout the week, writing drum lines - now that he had the electric drum kit set up in the corner of the front room, hidden from direct view of the front door though - for the two songs they managed to start work on. That didn't mean he couldn't be his usual self and exaggerate and dramatise everything though.

He didn't give Kanda a chance to answer though. He shifted around so he was in front of Kanda and pulled him tight against himself, crushing their lips together in what was probably a very coffee flavoured kiss. A week was too long and he was sure Kanda would like the welcome back. After all, this time he wasn't going to collapse from blood loss and be carted away in an ambulance. The thought made him wince, but his attention very quickly returned to Kanda and the kiss.

No doubt Lavi had caught the attention of his coworkers, not to mention half the airport with that little stunt, and suddenly he felt heat rising in his cheeks. He fought the blush with as much strength as he could, though a tiny little bit of pink stained his cheeks.

He was about to answer when Lavi turned him around and lips were suddenly against his. After all that had happened in the past week, this was more than enough of a welcome home, even though he'd told Lavi not to come. Far too tired to fight with Lavi over whether this was appropriate for such a public place - not that he could really say anything, since last time they'd been here he'd initiated it - he kissed back, sighing softly at the taste of coffee on Lavi's lips. So that was why Lavi was so wired.

A soft content noise rumbled in the back of his throat when Kanda kissed back. Trailing his arms around the other man's waist, he pulled him closer. He could care less that they were getting stares and that Kanda would more than likely yell at him for this stunt later. Sure, they'd only been apart for a week, but a week was too long and Lavi had found himself growing jealous of Kanda's coworkers, who probably got to spend more time with his lover than he did - it wasn't fair, and so he had to get as much of Kanda as he could while he was there.

Pulling back and taking a bit of a breath, he smiled at Kanda. "Welcome home." Sliding his hand down Kanda's arm, he linked their fingers together. "Let's go get your bags and head home, hm? I'll make breakfast~" He imagined Kanda would just want to sleep when they got back though. In which case he'd probably join him and catch up on the good few hours he missed getting up early to come meet him.

No doubt his coworkers were going to have a field day with this. He shuddered at the thought of going in to work on Monday only to have them all talking about the scene in the airport. He could feel the stares, as though everyone was watching, and as Lavi kissed him he brought up one hand to flip off anyone who happened to be watching.

He gasped in a breath as Lavi pulled away and welcomed him home. The suggestion of breakfast made him hungry. He hadn't had much to eat on the plane, aside from a cup of noodles about halfway through the flight. His stomach rumbled softly and he let Lavi lead him to the baggage claim, fingers linked with Lavi's. After breakfast he'd crash for a good while and sleep off the jet lag, if he survived that long.

As they headed over to the baggage claim, Lavi swung their hands together a little, though his mind wasn't on especially happy thoughts. He couldn't help the way his thoughts kept wandering back to what had happened last time he was in this airport, or at least what little he did remember from then, and absently his hand lifted to rub against his right side gently. It possibly didn't help that he'd been getting pains in his side again. They weren't incredibly bad, just enough for him to know they were there and make him a little panicky, and the doctor he'd been to see had said he couldn't find anything wrong and it was probably just been phantom pains but it didn't help to put him at ease about them.

They reached their destination and he let go of Kanda's hand so he could go find his luggage. He'd be able to take his mind off it when they were home and he was making breakfast for them, he was sure. And if it didn't, he could always just curl up to Kanda and the thoughts and dreams would be chased away like always.

Following Lavi over to the baggage claim, he sent a sleepy glare toward anyone who so much as looked at him. Lavi was unusually quiet. Why was that? He looked over at him only to find his eye was focused on the baggage carousel, looking for his suitcase.

There was something bothering him, that much was certain. It was probably memories from the last time he'd come home. It was still quite fresh in his mind, especially after his confrontation with Rufus only days before. "That one." He pointed to the small black case that was just coming around the curve of the carousel. After he'd had something to eat and a lot of sleep, he would ask Lavi what was wrong.

He didn't miss the look in his direction from Kanda, no doubt because he was being quiet which was always a concern when it came to him, but he didn't say anything. It probably wasn't a good idea to keep quiet about the pains and that they'd upset him, but it was more than likely that Kanda would bring it up at some point, so he'd wait until then and if Kanda wanted to yell at him for not telling before, well, he'd just have to deal with that.

Nodding when Kanda pointed to his bag, Lavi moved over and lifted it up off the conveyor, checking the attached tag to make sure he had picked the right one up before walking back over to Kanda. "Man, I woke up so early to come meet you and now I'm tired again! You better be grateful!" The words were coupled with a soft yawn and a small grin to show he wasn't serious.

As soon as Lavi had lifted the bag off the carousel and onto the floor he pulled the handle up so he could wheel it along behind him. He'd find out what was bothering Lavi, then give the redhead an earful for not telling him sooner.

"Oh shut up. I told you that you didn't have to come." He knew Lavi was just winding him up, as he always did. At least he wasn't as angry about it as he usually would be. The fatigue was evident in his voice and he brought a hand up to cover a wide yawn as he wheeled his suitcase towards the entrance. "If you're so tired, then hurry the Hell up so we can both go to sleep."

A small laugh at Kanda and Lavi found he had to stifle another yawn as Kanda yawned. It was true that Kanda had told him not to come, but when did he ever do as he was told? Food and then bed sounded like a damn good idea right then though, given the headache that was creeping up on him, his body complaining at the lack of sleep, and he followed quickly after Kanda.

Once outside, he dug into his pockets to find his wallet, checking he had enough money for a cab home before signalling one over. The subway was too damn far away from the airport and the busses were too slow, he wanted home soon, and he was sure Kanda did too, given how tired he looked and sounded. Less time for him to get lost in his thoughts too.

He stifled another yawn as Lavi signaled the cab. At this rate he might fall asleep in his breakfast, or even in the cab on the way home. The driver got out and took his suitcase, placing it in the trunk, and popped open the door so they could get in. He slid across the seat, and as soon as Lavi was sitting beside him he rested his head on Lavi's shoulder, closing his eyes. The ride was going to be moderately long, probably about half an hour. As soon as the cab pulled out onto the road he was out like a light.
