"Ummm, I was just lookin' around. And this really made my day, 'cause I haven't seen card games in like, forever! See, when I was little..." The brunette started going off into a ramble about childhood and how she moved from place to place, being in the farm-land to city to another country and then to a little county and then another country. She spoke in such an intriguing way, not like a story teller, but more like an over-active child explaining to their parents how amazing school was. For you see, Selphie hadn't really met anyone in town, despite the fact that she'd been there for a few months, and the only people she knew previously to moving to the city moved for personal reasons. Selphie was just a lonely dancer now, with lots of tales, but no friends.
Her story wasn't all that long, though, and she stopped it short anyway, for while the girl was explaining things, she found herself intrigued with his tan, and the color of his eyes. Wasn't he a little short to be coming from Africa, anyway? Maybe he had lots of clothes and spices, too! Despite her family going there for business trips, she'd never gone herself, and she'd never met anyone from the continent. The guy was simply fascinating, at least, in her opinion.
"So, tell me about yourself! You know my name; what's yours?"

The only thing that kept him from being socially awkward, despite having a tendency to be a loner at times, was the fact that he had to attend every meeting and formal gathering his father did. There he was forced to interact with clients and their daughters and sons, so it was very easy for Atem to remain calm even if he had no idea what was going on.
"Call me Yami," came the familiar phrase and he smiled politely, very amused with the girl's friendliness. He supposed now she wanted to hear a bit about him, judging from the very expectant look on her face. "I come from Cairo, here visiting my little brother for a bit," the Egyptian explained carefully, as he did to everyone who asked that information. Quickly, before anymore about him could be asked or brought up, Atem put a hand to his hip, tracing the case that concealed his deck that was attached to his belt. "You said you play card games? Any specifics?" he questioned thoughtfully, "If you need help with strategy or decks for Duel Monsters, I could help you," Yami offered with a sincere smile.

Oh well. It was quite obvious he wouldn't expose his secrets, but the name of Duel Monsters caught her attention. She'd never heard of it before, but at least he heard her about card games. Didn't this guy play solitare or anything? This sounded...weird. "Never heard of that," she explained, "but we played a game called Triple Triad. It was more a number game than anything, though. People bet for silly things like money or credits."
And then, out of nowhere, she had this magnificent idea. He seemed so keen on teaching her the game, and looked so bored at his post, that she decided that she'd take him out for a while. They could trade hobbies for a while, like a good friend would. And he certainly did look like a good friend. "So, here's a deal. I'll totally buy a deck, and you can teach me all about it! But, in return, you have to go dancing."
Now didn't that sound fun?
ooc;; you know tango dancing featuring atem and selphie will be absolutely amazing, don't deny it~~ ;D

He was a little confused at what she was doing in a Duel Monsters game shop if she had no idea what it was. Though he supposed he shouldn't be so surprised; Yugi had told him before about many people just wandering in off the street in search of new hobbies or ways to kill time. Atem smiled that polite, gentlemanly smile he was so accustomed to giving as he nodded as Selphie spoke again. Triple Triad didn't sound familiar, but he was willing to bet that he was just as easy to learn as any other game he could play.
She suddenly perked up, as if some fabulous idea had come to her, which Yami noted with an amused quirk of his brow. It took him but a second to translate the words correctly in his head and blinked quickly. The foreigner went on sudden alert; how did she know he danced? And more importantly, how could she ask someone she had just met something like that so fast!? It took all the self control Atem had to force himself to stand perfectly still and not gawk at Selphie as if she was crazy.
"Well..," he started, finding no reason or suspicion that would lead him to believe that she was a threat. Atem frowned slightly in thought; trying to quickly analyze the situation for misfortune. When he found nothing that seemed amiss(she didn't look dangerous, anyway), he blinked again; certain that it looked like he was having a hard time understanding what she had just said. 'Sometimes being foreign pays off,' the Egyptian thought to himself as he turned his bright vermilion gaze back up to her. "Okay," he replied after a slight hesitant moment. "But.. music is illegal here in the city," Yami said slowly, pretending to be completely innocent; at least until he figured out if which side of the bad Selphie stood on.
