The law, as written.

You may remember that in November I was hit by a car while walking to class. The incident left me feeling sore and worried some of my relatives because my uncle was killed in a near identical event and my grandma became a paraplegic from a car accident. Lucky me, I limped away with s few scratches, bruises, and a week of pain. Unfortunately, I wasn't killed in the accident, nor was any of my property damaged.

See, if I was seriously injured I would be able to sue the guy that hit me. If he got out of his car after taking me for a little ride on his hood and punched me I could sue him. If I was in my car and he hit my car I could sue him. But since I was a pedestrian and he hit me with a car, causing no "serious" injury I can't sue him. So, I got to wasted about 45 minutes in the hospital and got charged over $900 to hear a doctor say, "You're gonna be sore for the next few days." (Yes, that's al they did outside of taking an X-ray) The guy who hit me got a $90 and a slap on the wrist, but I am stuck with a $300 deductible that my car insurance won't pay.

Now, I ask: Does this seem fair?

Also, Liz, if it's worth it to you, you can get a free rose downtown at a place called Modern Floral. Every day they have a sign that says, "If your name is (girl's name) or (boy's name) come in and receive a free rose." Today was your name.
