This was a great little snippet. I love Jensen working with his hands and Jared being contemplative. A little melancholy but hopeful too if you look at it just right :)
Yes! I'm sort of fixated on this idea that for all of Jared's over-the-top personality, there is a quiet and contemplative side to him that we don't get to see. I'm happy that showed through in the story. Thanks m'dear!
Oh, that was sad. I love how you took such a trivial thing on a regular afternoon and made it so tragic and beautiful. And that part about hands was gorgeous-- the nostalgia makes me so sad.
For a moment, Jared allowed an idea to creep up, and he wondered if there would ever come a time when he wouldn’t know these scars, a time when Jensen would get new ones, and Jared wouldn’t know how or why they came to be. That tells a whole story, honestly. And the fact Jensen needs to do things himself... lovely, seriously. ♥
Thank you, dearest! I really wasn't aiming for something so sad, but it sort of came out that way!
I'm thrilled that you liked that line, it was the first thing that popped into my head when I was thinking of the prompt, and I just had to build a story around it!
Sorry for the late reply...I've just come up for air from working on my big bang. This was fun to write--no high drama or conflict. Just two guys living a normal sort of life. Thanks so much.
