So, I just watched Stardust for the first time and I have to squee!
Oh my god it was so freaking awesome. I just loved it. I loved it so much. I want to own it so bad now. I can't get over how awesome it was.
I read the book ages ago, right after the movie came out, because I knew that it was going to be my type of movie/book. And it is, it so is. So I bought and read the book, and loved it, and kept telling myself that I needed to watch it, and I just now got around to it.
The book and the movie are surprisingly similar. The only real difference is the ending, and personally, I think I might like the movie better ending, simply because it is more of a "happily ever after" end. But the book ending is really good, too, if a little melancholy.
And can I just say that I loved that Ian McKellan was the narrator? It started and I was like, "holy crap, it's Gandalf!" lol And Robert Deniro just cracked me up, he was hysterical.
Anyway, now I need to go reread the book. *sighs* But I also want to reread Twilight after seeing that movie. And I want to read The Book of Atrix Wolf by Patricia McKillip, which I have read the prologue of, and I want to read Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates, which I have read the first chapter of. And I also want to read the chapter on revision in my "Writing Fiction" text from Creative Writing: Prose class. I don't think we actually read it for the class, it doesn't have any underlined passages at any rate, and in that particular book I underlined a lot in the parts that I did read.
And I need to wrap presents. And I have to work tomorrow, which is total yuck. I normally have weekends off, but because I have Thursday off this week (duh) I work tomorrow. It is a seven hour instead of an eight hour, though, and altogether I have four less hours than I average, but with the eight hours of holiday pay I won't be too bad. The sucky thing is that I don't work New Year's Eve, but I do work on New Year's Day. So, that isn't exciting to me. Not that I really do anything anyway, but it is the principal of the thing, right?
Also, I am playing Earthbound, which is an old Super Nintendo RPG that Ness (from Smash Brothers) is originally from. It is fun, and I am enjoying it.
And I have been reading very little fanfiction in the past couple weeks. It started out enforced by the evil that calls itself our internet, but once we got it back, I kinda just...didn't go back. I still have a bunch on my flist that I browse through and pick out one or two that sound interesting or that I really like the author/series/etc. but for the most part, I haven't. I did play a lot of solitaire last week though, that was how exciting I am.
Okay, really, all I meant to post about was Stardust, but this has turned into a whole thing, so I am just going to end it here.
[Edit] And also, I want to see Sarah Brightman in concert. And I would have a musicgasm if Loreena McKennitt and Enya did a duet.
