So, a couple things...

One. American Psycho is one of the most insane movies that I have ever seen in my life. I have decided that the only phrase that truly describes it is fucked up. Yeah...that's all. It broke my brain at the end.

Two. American Psycho is not the best movie to watch before going to bed in your apartment all by yourself. I'm not being crazy or anything, but as I was turning out the lights I had to check and make sure that no one was in the hall closet because it was open just a little, and I couldn't remember if I had gotten into it earlier or not. It probably didn't help that I had a dream that Hannibal Lecter was stalking me last night.

Three. I finished Eldest (the sequel to Eragon). It was crazy good. I was kinda blown away by the end, but at the same time, while I wasn't really expecting it, it wasn't surprising, because it was a little cliche, and cliches are hard to make surprising. But that's ok. I was surprised by Oromis, who you will only know if you have read. (If you couldn't tell, I was deliberately not telling you what happened so that you wouldn't be spoiled.) I can't wait for the next one. I hope that they make Eldest into a really good movie. I will be disappointed if it isn't. And I will go batshit crazy if they don't make it into a movie at all. *thinks* Where does the phrase batshit crazy originate?

Four. I tried reading the first James Bond book, but it didn't work for me. It was...dry. And...flat. Which is okay. That was the style that spy novelists wrote at that time. I'm just too used to things like the Bourne Identity and Michael Crichton. It leaves me wanting a little more suspense...especially in the beginning to hook me in. I have a bad habit of not reading a book if it doesn't hook me. *contemplates what kind of hook would be appropriate for terrakania* Though I can make myself get past the opening and into the meat of things if I have a good enough reason. Say someone recommended it to me, or I have heard things about it. I checked out In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, but I haven't started it yet.

Five. I have been considering taking a different approach to my Terrakania novel. Instead of starting with the focus on the wizards, have them be a mystery that someone has to solve...I don't know if I could work it that way. I'm still having problems making things happen to my characters. They have to be active characters, shaping events around them, but they also have to have some element of reactive...ness...or else nothing would ever happen. The beginning is something that sets everything else in motion. The event that almost everyone reacts to, causing others to react, causing others to then act, which in turn causes others to react. Its like a chain...and I can't find the freaking first link!

Six. There is no six, I have nothing else to say. Though six was considered a holy number in *thinks* Babylon? Maybe? Anyway, one of the ancient civilizations in somewhere that wasn't one of the Americas they used six as their base number, the way we use ten.
