So, yeah. I have a new computer. Some of you know that and some of you don't. It is an HP Pavilion, which is the same as my old computer, but this one is really nice. I also got a new monitor (Naomi, next time I see you remember to take yours back). A 20" widescreen lcd!!! It is awesome to play guild wars. But yeah. The only bad thing is that the video card for the computer is hardwired to the...motherboard (I think that's what Anthony said) but anyway, it isn't very good, so i need to get a new one. And I'm thinking that I'm going to buy a internal wireless card so that I can have a slightly more stable internet connection than the one I have now. But woot! for computer. It came with Vista, which I think that I like. I will have to wait a while before I decide whether I liked XP better, but this seems pretty good.
Naomi, you said something about being able to get me photoshop or something similar at one point, and I was wondering if maybe I could do that. I want to make icons and stuff. *wiggles* I don't know why. I just do. I've been taking screencaps in Guild Wars, and I have some pretty cool caps. One of them is actually my current desktop.
We get our bonus from Wal-Mart today. Combined with my normal paycheck I'm getting just over a thousand dollars. I'm putting half of it in savings, but still, it's nice. The past few weeks have been nice, not having to worry about whether I was going to have enough money to make it to payday and whether I was going to be able to pay both K&A and NNU. I'm going to try to keep that up...have a "safety net" of at least a couple hundred dollars in my checking account at all times, and not touch my savings, unless I'm adding to it.
But yeah...not much else is happening in the world of Rob. I wrote an awesome scene for Terrakania, which I may or may not post in the next few days. But I am looking for the inciting incident. I realized that I don't have one. I start in on a bunch of opening stuff, and description and letting people know the characters, but then I just creep into the main story without anything that grabs the attention of the audience. And I have too many "main" characters, too. I've been thinking about that, Jannah brought it up, and I think that I may have come up with a solution that fixes that, and fixes the problem that I was having with the characterization of a couple of the Wizards. I was writing them just to be writing them, but I didn't know them, and I think that moving them physically away from the others might help show me who they are and where they are going.
