As a law student with a BC undergrad degree, you didn't really expect me to not talk about this issue, did you?

Honestly, I wasn't going to. So much has been has about it, and so much is still being said about it, that in the past 24 hours there's so much misinformation going around that I feel the need to blog, if not to address this misinformation ( Read more... )

Yes, thank you for explaining ra 10175! It clears up a lot of things for me, especially since I really can't understand the jargon used OTL. , I was also doubtful with the rape thing too, sadly I am guilty of retweeting a few of those lines.

I think this is also a disadvantage in living in a fast-info world, a lot of ideas pour in but it's not sifted through. I wish I could reblog your post too (which is another pro-con nowadays, everything can be shared with just a click.)

Thank you, Krinkle! And yes, that *is* the downside of our generation and the internet, people retweet without thinking sometimes, which is why a cybercrime law could actually be useful. I'd encourage you to repost my blog but then we might both end up in jail. Haha. In any case, I'm glad to have been able to help you understand the law. :)

actually, there is a share button in LJ now :P and I don't think this would count as anything "libelous" when you're actually clarifying the ra 10175. May I share this? * A * And as you said, lahat na tayo kriminal sa pag-dl pa lang hahaha :p
