X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I finally saw X-Men Origins: Wolverine today!

I wouldn't let my brother hear the end of it until he went with me to watch. We have been X-Men fans since we were kids (super subaybay namin noon 'yung cartoons, we were even singing - or rather, humming - the opening theme to the cartoon while the end credits were rolling), so it was only natural that we'd go and see Wolverine on the big screen.
The special effects were coooool. But honestly, would you expect anything less? Wolverine is the most popular X-Men character after all, and this is a Hollywood film we're talking about.

The story was okay. Of course, you can't really say that the movie is very different from the original, since there have been soooo many variations of X-Men and Wolverine already that you can't really tell which one's the "original" that's pertained to. I liked how they didn't make Wolverine's character flat.

My brother and I didn't like Deadpool. I mean, he's cool, but he's not that cool. I will not elaborate any further for those who haven't seen the movie. :p

Also. My brother and I looked at each other during the opening credits, when Will.I.Am's name flashed onscreen. My brother went, "'Pag mutant si Will.I.Am, sobrang cool n'ya." And ta-da! Will.I.Am played Nightcrawler! Which we found really cool in the beginning, although we kinda got tired of it near the end. We were both like, "Isn't Nightcrawler German... and blue?" But in fairness to Will.I.Am, he did a pretty good job. Okay, we just found out that Will.I.Am wasn't Nightcrawler after all. But whoever he was, that character had the same power as Nightcrawler. Apparently, kulang pa ang X-Men knowledge naming magkapatid. :p

As for the second main reason I watched this movie: the participation of my all-time favorite character, Gambit.

He is just soooo friggin' hot! And I love how they emphasized his skill with martial arts, in addition to the cards thing and blowing-things-up thing. I swear, ang hot niya talaga. Gambit is forever love. I hope he gets included in more X-Men movies. And I hope Taylor Kitsch plays him forever.

And lastly, my favorite scene from the movie, which appeared for a minute, max:

Ang ganda lang nung cards. Bow. :)
