Twilight

Alexis and I virtually kidnapped Eunice today to watch Twilight (super long break kasi ni Eunice). Despite Audrey's threats that we couldn't watch because the cinema would be overbooked beyond belief, we went on with the endeavor, and proved Audrey wrong. HAH! (Joke, Auds, I love you!)

I'm not going to go on with the story because, DUH, with the hype that this movie (and the book series) has been getting, there's really no need to refresh your memory. So.

The first half of the movie was soooo effin' boring and dragging. During this part, wala kaming ginawang tatlo kundi okrayin ang technicals. We really felt that there wer scenes (or perhaps the entire movie?) had a one-cam setup. Stephanie Meyer, you could've sold the rights to a bigger production house like Twentieth Century or something, para naman malaki-laki ang budget ng blockbuster movie mo at hindi one-cam setup.

It was either the only had one camera, or minadali ang editing. Ang pangit ng shots and angles ng maraming scenes. For a movie that has gathered so much hype, this was definitely poorly executed.

The part that really caught my attention was the one of the first montages, when Bella was trying to figure out what was up with Edward, where she realizes that he's a vampire. The selection of shots in those few seconds (it was definitely less than a minute) was just awesome.

Things begin picking up at around the second half of the movie - and it was a good thing, too, that it did, or else we might've just walked out. The second half was significantly better than the first, story-wise. Unfortunately, it still looked like they used a one-cam setup.

As for the cast, they were good. Kristin Stewart (Bella Swan) reminded me so much of Emma Watson/Hermione Granger. She wasn't spectacular, but she did okay. So did Robert Pattinson, although I still say they should've picked a lesser-known actor - Robert already has Harry Potter fame, and he will always be Cedric Diggory to me.

As expected in vampire movies, the cast is HOOOOT! :)) My favorites are Dr. Cullen, James and Alice. Yeah. :>

I enjoyed the movie, all in all, but I don't think it's worth all the hype.

An interesting (er, "scary", I think, is more appropriate a term) incident while we were watching Twilight.

I distinctly remember that we sat in front of a girl sitting alone. About halfway through the movie, I heard the girl suddenly shout something (I forgot), then she went, "Eh bakit mo 'ko hinahawakan?!" A few seconds later, she shouted, "Asshole!" I kind of turned and saw her on her feet, walking away. I also saw that there was a guy occupying the seat beside her - a guy I don't think was there when we came in.

Sige, go figure.

K1 semi-reunion, thanks to Charm's surprise debut! :D Thank God my parents allowed me. I really wanted to go, especially after Gen told me that Charm was always saying that I was one of her closest friends in the block. The party was a blast! I love you, K1! :D
