This follows on from The End of the Train Trip. It has come in at 3,479 words.

After spending the night in an actual bed I breakfasted with Master Que in the hotel’s restaurant. There had to be better ways of serving smoked fish with rice than they had in their breakfast buffet and I resolved to find out what they were. To add insult to injury, ( Read more... )

The housing tour so reminds me of my own search for a new home some years ago. :)

Looks like Nai will have an interesting year in the university!

Eee Nai, standing up to those jerks!!

The house-hunting reminded me of some of mine, too.

Heh, fun. I bet Quiao Tao reminds Master Que of himself. I wonder if we'll see more of him. The gi tournaments ought to be fun, too.

One typo, when they first get in Mr Han's car: "that wouldn’t have been put of place in such a person." Put should be out.

Oh, man, real estate shopping. All sorts of hassle. I've had it go quickly, and I've had it take a long time, and never has it been pleasant. The estate sale seems the most promising of the lot, but there's a lot of room for better even there.

I have to wonder who has the wrong information with that student rental, and whether there's any possibility that that path is now a permanent, legal right-of-way because it's been in use for so long.

Nai can get a loan big enough from the bank to buy somewhere but I never said it would be enough for a really good place. :)

First home purchase and all that. Also she's sort of confined herself to the student housing districts....

The estate sale house sounds like the best of the choices -- prospects of repeated flooding I'd consider Right Out -- but I am curious about situation with the former gatekeeper's house.

I like Master Kung, too. :)

Yes, Master Kung emerged from his office and sort of happened....didn't he? :)

And someone is presumably going to buy the former gatekeeper's house, aren't they?

Yes, but it may not be anyone Nai knows, or on her route anywhere if she picks a different place. We'll see! :)
