Only a few more days left
Well, I leave London on Sunday afternoon. I'm at a different internet cafe right now and will be paying £1 whether I spend 1 min or an hour on this comp, so I decided to update.
Let's see, on Sunday I went to the Tower. That place is huge. There was a downpour the whole time we were there, but it was fitting. Kerry and I went crazy over the ravens and pigeons...we have a London bird fascination. We saw the Crown Jewels and drooled for about 15 mins straight.
Monday was Stonehenge, and for anyone who really knows me, that's all I have to say. I can SO die happy now.
Tuesday was another little scare, b/c an area was blocked off due to a left bag and police were swarming around the Tate Modern. BUT I was able to see so many Frida Kahlo paintings, including my favorite up close and personal. It was so amazing; they used these bland white walls to hang her paintings on and it made the colors of her paintings all the more obvious. Seeing so much of her life and her pain so raw and open in her work...it made me speechless.
Yesterday was rainy and wet...so, we decided to do something near the dorm, which was the British Lib. It's, well, HUGE! We saw Shakespeare's First Folio, some very old religious texts, handwritten work of Woolf and Kipling. There were also sound clips, such as Edison reading 'Mary had a little lamb'......THAT was funny.
Today is the trip to the Natural History and the V&A. Jessica leaves early tomorrow ::cries:: and we have a high tea at the Savoy. I've already been given my grade for my one class, it's a good grade.
Now, my time is running out and therefore I should go.
