Rambles

-I never quite get it how/why when I wake up at 4:30am, work an 8.5 shift, and come home I can never get to sleep before 2am. I blame the fact that I just usually don't start work until 2:30pm and my system just gets thrown so out of sorts. Look, I am grateful for a paying job, but god, do a miss a normal 40 hr workweek. With two days off in a row. And most holidays off.

I did get Easter off though, even though I was willing to work the 6am shift. Granted, my need to request the afternoon off is now null and void. Grandpa, Aunt Krissy and Uncle Donnie won't be coming since Grandpa's sick. Only slightly freaked out about that. (I will fully admit I cling to my grandpa even more than usual now, and worry about him far too much, but you know, it's what I do.) They're now planning to come over (over is the best I can do, it's not South or North, it's just East, well Southeast I guess) in Autumn.

Anyway, the tenative Easter plans so far are going to see the last day of Mummies of the World at Discovery Place. I haven't been there since the remodel, so I'm eager to see the rest of the place, not just the mummies. My family manages to work something morbid into every holiday. It's our special gift.

- I'm starting to move mixies over to 8tracks. Of course, for the mini-mixes, it means I having to add some tracks to get it up to 8. I just messed around with the Deputy Tim Gutterson fanmix and god, that is a character I would willingly make fanmixes for until the end of days. Season 3 is really adding to that urge.

- Speaking of Jacob Pitts characters, I'm having one of those Hoosier writing urges. I blame the fact I've been writing in Nashville 'verse for most of the past two weeks.

- April is National Poetry Month. To spare my flists on dw and lj, I'm doing this year's daily posting over at tumblr. (For my flist friends over there, I apologize.)

-Started watching The Tudors again. I stopped after Season One but I'm running out of tv shows to catch up on, and it's on Netflix Instant. Just, *sigh*, I wish for a show with anything even approaching historical accuracy.
