Official start of the season is here! I am a Yankees fan born and raised and had to become a Braves fan when I moved to NC in 1993 b/c well, there are no other close baseball teams. (Seriously, MLB, where is the love for baseball in the South? We only have teams in FL, TX, and GA. I refuse to count the Washington Senators Nationals (I always use the old name for them) for anything. We're good enough for your minor leagues but not your Majors?)
Anyway, both the Yankess and Braves start their seasons today. I will hopefully get to catch at least part of the each game before I have to go work my stupid four hour shift at 3:45pm. It's the first Braves season without Bobby Cox in AGES and god, let's see when Jeter breaks the 3,000 hit mark for the Yankees.
It's time to breakout my baseball music mixes, make a lunch of peanuts and hotdogs, and welcome the start of the new season.
I'm actually really missing being in the center of Red Sox Nation right now. I never was a Red Sox fan, but there was also so much excitment that went through the city with the start of the season, and I miss being in the middle of all that.
yankees,
