We welcome you back to our regularly scheduled random postings of no substance.
I'll just sum it up with: I'm doing as well as can be expected and trying to get back to some sense of "normal."
Though, if mother nature could stop it with the massive rain which keeps making me pissy and tired, I would be SO happy.
So, let's talk fandom.
First, apparently there is this HBO Civil War mini-series out there that's in the process of casting? Lots of country musicians are in the cast so far. Rascal Flatts is being handed over the reins for the music (which, ugh. Look, I adore the boys as modern country musicians but the utter WEALTH of bluegrass/folk/traditional musicians out there just makes me already bitchface at this program) and apparently Damian Lewis is among the actors for dream casting? It's called
To Appomattox. I can't lie, I am intrigued.
Second, I really, really am in the mood for Gondolin-era Tolkien Fic and I keep coming up disappointed. All the good fic I remember I can no longer find. I really have an urge for Ecthelion fic right now, and yeah, nothing still out there on the web. Le sigh.
I also want Second Age-foundations of Imladris fic, but I can never recall reading any of that, so boo.
I am getting back to writing. I was in the process of finishing a LotR era fic when I got the call on my birthday. Need to follow through with that one.
War fandom fic taunts me. I just don't know what fic to finish next. After all The Pacific re-watches, I am in the mood for some Team Leckie and Team Basilone, but the adventures of Snafu and Doc Roe always distract me. I just want to write the fic, in the happen modern au where no one dies except Julian, where poor Basilone gets ganged up on by Lena, his real wife, and JP, his work-wife, and Manny, his work thing on the side. Or the one in Smokey Joe's cafe, where Team Leckie + Vera sit down for their weekly chat, and meet random waiter dude of the soft voice. (I will call him George).
I finally starting to catch up on The Big Bang Theory and am really enjoying it on the second re-watch.
I missed Blue Bloods, Castle, and NCIS. I was able to catch the tail-end of Top Chef, which, I'll admit, I only watch for Fabio.
Ugh, time to get ready for work tomorrow. Get back into the swing of working at least 5-straight-shifts. And all the Superbowl shoppers. Ugh. I also have a Jury Summons coming up. That'll be interesting.
