Up On The Ridge

Hello All, hope everyone is doing well. I'm sort of beyond mentally exhausted. My life is pretty much work-Carrie-work-Carrie-work right now. Lots of stress, lots of frustration, and really little to no restful sleep. I'd go on about it more but I'm sure exactly no one wants me going into great detail over Chest PT vests and BiPap masks and meds upon meds. Let's just sum it all up with, Carrie's home, she's not on oxygen 24/7 and we've had yet to call an EMT.

I have to talk about the weather. It is raning and in the 60sF and I LOVE IT. My fellow citizens of NC are walking around in jackets, b/c hey, it was in the 90s just three days ago, but I revel in this actual fall weather. Granted, it's wreaking havoc on my allergies, but I don't care. Humidity is down, you can smell fall in the air, there is an actual chilled breeze. Nothing makes me happier than this.

In other news:

Things which are resting in the back of my mind while writing those Modern-Day-War-Fandom-AUS. The one where Andy Haldane, USMC, Ret., goes down to LA with Teach for America and winds up a History teacher and a football coach, that bit, is basically getting its own theme song in Kenny Chesney's "The Boys of Fall":

Granted, to me, "Boys of Fall" means baseball, but that's just my sport bias. Counting down the days until the postseason. Even though I am a born and bred Yankees fan, I am, actually, rooting for Tampa Bay. They just, they are so young and so talented.

Still, damn you Kenny Chesney. Just when I'm ready to give up on you, you release an album like "Hemingway's Whiskey" which I love on title alone. Alas, Dierks Bentley still wins for my favorite country album of the year, as he did a Bluegrass-tinged cover of "Pride (In the Name of Love)" and it was pretty damn good. And a very good country cover of "Senor (Tales of Yankee Power") which is SO going on the Modern Day Drifter AU fanmix for Hillbilly Jones.

Anyway, Flist, tell me what's going on with you. Any good fic recs? Books, tv, recs? How's life treating you? I know Inception fandom is always bursting with something new. War Fandoms, any good art/fic/fanmixes/graphics lately? My Chem boys and gals, give me your Dustverse/Killjoys recs.

As for new fall tv: I've missed most of it. I am hooked into Blue Bloods. I've written off Supernatural, watched some of CSI but when they put Nick through some sort of explosion/angst/drama AGAIN, I turned it off. Keep mising HIMYM. Missed NCIS b/c I was watching Glee which has yet to impress me with a musical number so far this season.
