So, I bought a white winter dwarf hamster because I really am five years old. His name is Samwise Balburrower, since I always thought Samwise was a good name for a hamster and every time I see said hamster in his wheel, the theme from
Rocky plays in my head. Mom calls him Sammie the Hammie. Yes, we are that cheesey.
I was supposed to have Monday off, since I'll be working the whole weekend, but I just got called in to work for someone else. Which means I'll have four straight days of 8+ hour shifts on my feet. Fun. I just pray I have Wed. off. One day I will have two whole days off in a row, and on that day, I shall weep with joy.
I finally went to the eye doctor, wherein he declared me near-sighted and said while I can see fine without glasses, I'll need them for driving at night and in adverse weather conditions. He assured me I was not the only one to stumble into his office with a "the dmv sent me here" notice. He did, however, charge me $19 more than the standard price. He told me I took the eye exam well for a first timer and that while I won't need glasses for reading for a while, it is something in my future. Largely due to my genetics since he kind of balked at my genetic history. What can I say, on both sides of my family we are short, squat, peasent stock bodies who are not at all healthy. I basically ordered the cheapest pair I could get for now, since I will just need them for driving. Later on I'll shell out the money for nicer ones, but the exam was $98 and the glasses were $76 getting the cheapest options possible.
I finally started watching Glee and yeah, addicted, because, you know, showtunes. And my love of Broadway. Thanks, Mom. Alas, watching makes me want to poke around another modern day-AU for the war fandoms with the boys as High School or Community College staff. I'm just debating over who goes where. I mean, Leckie for History or English. Webster for English or Oceanography. Bill and Toye for being Badass. Sink would either be the Dean or the Principal depending on what. More for Autoshop. Lieb as the gym teacher who constantly gets in trouble for teaching the kids how to box. Renee for Human Anatomy. Sledge for Bio or Earth Science. Eddie, of course, for Music. I don't know. It's just swirling about in my head, b/c my head is a crazy place.
