The Amazing Race

Only the second episode of the season, but I'm still kind of "eh." I'm not feeling any of the teams yet, though the Cowboys amuse me and I love how Grandma from Team Grandma is all Zen. Also, she has a granddaugter named Shannon and therefore, is awesome. I also don't see the great need for picking on Miss Teen SC. Look, I make jokes about people from SC all the time, but living in NC for a long time makes me feel like I have the right. But look, we all say stupid shit but most of us don't have it happen on national tv and make it to the viral video hall of fame.

But really, this episode for me was: "OMG, LLAMAS!" Followed by me quoting Emperor's New Groove to me, myself, and I.

One thing I do love and appreciate about The Amazing Race is teh little tidbits of history and Culture they throw out. Granted, they've yet to make the Nazi-related mentions of many of those German-yay parts of South America, but, you know, so is life. Man, now I'm remembering the all-star season when they stopped at Auschwitz and how most of the teams just took a moment to be still and actual reflect.

Best line of the night:

"Oh my God, Bessie, if you had done that while I milked you, we would not be friends."

Wore new shoes today while out on errands and am regretting it big time. I have what was a blister that rubbed through to layers of skin underneath and it hurts both to put water and hydrogen peroxiede on it. It doesn't help that I apparently left the neosporin in my desk drawer at work (paper cuts are brutal) so I'm just trying to make do with a band-aid. Still, it's the side of my lower ankle and killing me.

Room cleaning went mostly well. Alas, the trash cans are already filled up, so I can't move any of the many bags of trash out until next Thursday.

Now time to re-watch Persuasion, it is my favorite of all the Austen-tales and I've enjoyed the two adaptations I know of very much. I'm really going to miss having WBGH as my local PBS station once I move back to CLT.
