YAY, NICOLE!

Unlike the past few seasons, I was very happy with the top two and with the winner. The girl who deserved to win, won, and I think Nicole really is a promising model. Hopefully people will look past her height.

And herein ends the very special cycle of antm.

In other news:

It is friggin cold in Mass. right now. Everything was covered in frost this morning. I thought it might have flurried that's how thick the frost was. December, right around the corner, grr. But wore the combat boots for the first time today, and they did very well. My feet aren't even sore from breaking in new boots. Yay.

They've started decorating at work. I sort of don't need to see a mini-Nativity scene when I walk in the door of my cubicle wasteland. I am going to force them to at least put up something that says "Seasons Greetings" or "Happy Holidays" this year and not make it like last year where Santa and his elves exploded all over the place, and it was just Christmas/Christmas/Christmas. I just pray they do not turn the Christmas Carol cds on. Look, I love Winter Carols, I do, from Adam Sandler's "Hanukkah Song," to Sarah's version of "Song For A Winter's Night," to Nat King's Cole's "The Christmas Song," to choral versions of "Carol of the Bells," but that does not mean I want to listen to them all damn day for the next month. Why, oh why did I leave my Bah Humbug shirt in CLT?

Also, it apparently takes 10 people to hang something on the wall in our workspace. Even with a level. We all fail at life. And hanging things.

Funny convo from today:
Co-worker, typing on her blackberry: Oh, crap, I dropped my 'R' there.
Me: Like so many of your fellow citizens of this state.
Co-worker pauses, gives me a look and finally smiles: That's a good one.

Starting to plan out for Nashville. I will be spending most of the weekend on planes and in airports, but that Saturday will be the big family day. Gah. I don't even know if I have really dressy winter stuff. I have sweaters, nice sweaters, but I don't really have any thick winter skirts. I'll have to wear trousers and hope my Grandmother deals. Shoes might also be an issue, but I might just throw a pair of flats into my bag. Here's hoping the weather holds up.
