So, since no one can have too much Robert Stack in their lives, I've netflixed and am watching Unsolved Mysteries: Bizarre Murders: Disc 1 and who should be playing one of the re-enactors but none other than a very young Matthew McConaughey. Wow, so 1980s.

In other news:
I have new boots! New water-proof, warm, lined, good grip winter boots and a new pair of combat boots. I am very happy, though I have promised my mother I will not wear the combat boots to the grandparents' 60th wedding aniv. party. Man, wear them to one 8th-Grade graduation and you're labeled for life. I still stand by my decision to wear them; they went quite well with the black sort-of fake crushed-velvet dress. Yeah, I was a teeny-tiny goth in the mid-90s.

I've started re-reading Storm Front while writing up the Dresden Files side of the primers for the huge megafic of doom. The 2nd page of the book reminds me why I love this series so much:
My name is Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden. Conjure by it at your own risk. I’m a wizard. I work out of an office in midtown Chicago. As far as I know, I’m the only openly practicing professional wizard in the country. You can find me in the yellow pages under “Wizards.” Believe it or not, I’m the only one there.
-Jim Butcher, Storm Front, p. 2, New York: RoC, April 2000.

I cannot believe we are two weeks away from Thanksgiving. Where the hell is all the time going? I'm mean, yay for a paid day off, but gah. It means my flights to Nashville and CLT are just around the corner and I'm getting weeks and weeks closer to 26. Eeek.

Finally:
Feeling much better, though my voice is still shot and I can only really breathe out of one nostril, my head is clear and I don't feel like crap and that's really all I can ask for.

megafic of hugness, dresden files, tv, shoes, writing
