...but at least I had plenty of movies to watch while curled up in my bed. It is cold outside, yo, and therefore cold in my apartment. The health is getting progressively more icky and coughy, but it's okay. I have warm socks, and warm hoodies (though it might not be the best time to wear the
DEAD! hoodie) (it's so soft, but I've worn it so much it's getting not-soft which makes me sad), and plenty of blankets and Puffs with Vicks (only the best thing ever!) but ugh. I know, winter's coming in New England. It doesn't mean I have to like it. I am in an apartment, on the ground floor, with lots of windows. It gets cold, okay. Luckily, I have twelve thousand NC State hoodies, and one Marist Hoodie (thanks, mom!), and plenty of warm and fuzzy pj pants.
Speaking of my mother, I love her for many reasons, but mostly b/c she says things like this:
My mother, when looking in the frige for something to eat: This fridge is full of stuff but no food. The fridge is full of nothing but condiments and pickles. How many types of mustard do we need?
It's funny 'cause it's true. My own fridge also reflects this. My family, we are winners. It almost ties with the time she said, "I just want to be in traction for a little while," but comes nowhere's close to the ever famous, "Somehow my thumb got infected and now I know why monkeys didn't take over the world."
My mom, ladies and gents, she's a funny lady.
I spent much of the day re-watching and loving the following films:
-Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten.
-Love Actually
-Empire Records
-Grosse Pointe Blank
There is nothing but love in that above list. Though, if someone loved me a lot, they'd write me either a bandom or an SGA Grosse Pointe Blank-esque AU.
In other news:
I got my brother a New York Jets Garden Gnome for Christmas. He just got a new house, he loves the Jets, and everyone needs a garden gnome. I have to get two more presents for mom, and at least one TMNT shirt for the Bean and then that's it. The federal gov't wants me to start paying them over $340 next month for the next 25 years, which I wasn't expecting to start until January, but when they say six months to the day you graduated, they aren't kidding. Apparently they don't care that while I do make above min. wage I am living in a state with a very high cost of living and therefore won't let me apply for a deferment. I'm still going to call somebody during the weekday and cry, plead, and beg. I cannot afford to pay my bills and pay these loans right now and you would think the federal government, of all people, would understand why. If not, I am hoping the let me do the income-based payments instead, b/c based on my level of income, my monthly payments should only be $109, according to their own scale. We shall see.
