Dear Many People in Hollywood and the Film World I Used to Respect,
When is it EVER okay for a grown man to drug and rape a thirteen year old girl? No, being an "artist" does not excuse you from the law or from being a decent human being. I don't care how fucking "gifted" a director Roman Polanski is, he drugged and raped a thirteen year old girl and then fled America during the trial (which is also illegal, BTFW!) and he needs to be punished. It just disgusts me seeing the names of actors, directors, artists etc I respected in defense of this man.
And furthermore if he was a non-famous human being, this would not even be a debate. Think about it, please. No one should be allowed to get away with such a crime. Also, think about the message you are sending to the world: If someone is "gifted" enough then it is, apparently, perfectly okay for them to commit stautory rape by your demands to "free Roman Polanski." I never knew so many in Hollywood were such ardent supporters of pedophiles.
Good to know there are some sane people at the Patriot Ledger willing to call out celebs. I really cannot believe Whoopi Goldberg says it's not "rape-rape." Rape is rape is rape is rape. There are no degrees of rape.
