*scratches head* I never thought about that but it's true. Maybe it's because he DID imprison the halflings? I never saw him as such.
And I have to agree: as much as love Erestor, I've had enough fic on him. I'm not in the right mood to write fic but I would probably write one on...well, I should probably finish writing what I had. I had a Thranduil/Elrond and Celebrimbor/OMC.
Actually, I'd like to see a fic on either Celebrimbor or Curufin...preferably one that isn't mine.
But it's like, what did people expect him to do be all, "Why, yes, it is perfectly fine for you to walk into my realm, scare my people, try to steal our food and then not tell us anything. Why would we ever find a reason to hold you prisoner?" Yeah, I know, too much political history in my mind

Re: Celebrimbor's tragic life, which it so was. But see, the good thing about elves are. They get Re-born, we think, so even if life on Arda is tragic I always hold out hope for an eventual happy ending in Aman. At least that's what I tell myself.
Second age? Pandemonium is a fab 2nd age writer, check her out here:
The Apprentice Summary: An ambitious young Noldorin man of Ost-in-Edhil lands a coveted appointment as an apprentice to the most skilled master smith of the Gwaith-i-Mirdain: Istyar Aulendil. The apprentice's mentor, a prodigy of the Aulënossë, has been sent to Middle-earth by the Valar and has knowledge of exotic and wondrous technology. Istyar Aulendil also has notoriously high standards. The apprentice must meet his mentor's expectations if he is to become a journeyman and work on an important new initiative.
Her sequel: The Elendilmir Summary: A young child of Men befriends Sámaril, the troubled master smith of Imladris. The Noldorin craftsman experiences the joy and pain born of friendships between the Eldar and mortal Men and comes to question his people’s values as his life becomes entwined with Isildur’s youngest son and two powerful women of the Dúnedain. A sequel to The Apprentice.

Thanks! I will def. check these out. Though I think I'll have to hold off on the Trinity fic as, to me, the whole history and situation is a very sticky one and I get...irked is the only proper word when it appears in fiction outside of like, as passing mention to set a timeperiod. But that's just a weird historian thing.
I am always happy to see more Gildor and Celebrimbor in fic.
Pandë has a doctorate in biochemistry and has so much knowledge of the history of the Manhattan Project, its amazing. What a fountain of knowlegde. If there is one thing I am certain about is that she has the period & character down. Just think about it :)

Maybe a bit too tragic but that was life during the First, Second, and Third Ages.
I will now e-mail you part of it and see what you make of it.
