So, I had to call into work and call off. Which I really hate to do in these times, with the new boss people. But this is supposed to be our worst storm of the season, which is saying something for the winter New England has experienced so far, and yeah. I got up, got dressed, got ready to go to work and was getting ready to go out into the wilderness when I actually took a look outside. Heavy snow falling, visibility at nothing, no sidewalks or roads cleared, and oh yeah...wind. Which means sideways snow and even more difficulity in seeing where you are walking. Which is what I have to do to get to mass transit. Mass transit is great in a snow storm, except for the fact that the buses get extra delayed because road conditions, if the rails get covered in snow the emergency brakes will lock onto the trains, and oh, yeah, a person either has to walk to get to the mass transit stations or stand out in the snow waiting for the mass transit to come to them.
So, with the amounts of snow coming with this storm that will make 70+ inches this winter in total. And, oh yeah, the South Shore, which is where I am, is getting hit hardest right now. Because, oh yeah, we're getting 30+mph gusts from this. I better not get any crap for taking off today.
Yes, I know, I was the one who decided to move back up North in 2006, but everyone up here will tell you this winter has been far from normal with storm after storm after storm.
Also, I woke up an hour before my alarm and even though I am not going into work today, that is still all kinds of wrong.
Later on today I shall post this huge emo/pop-punk/music review thing I've been working on for no other reason than my great levels of dorktasticness.
