fandom bits

So, new Doctor. I don't really have a feeling towards him yet. He impresse Moffat which means he has to be able to act but I was sort of preparing myself for an older Doctor. I don't know. We shall see. Boy-o does need a haircut though. Honestly, though, I am much more curious about the companions. We've had plenty of kick-ass and awesome gals, but it's time for some guys to represent. We've only really had Mickey and Jack, and while they are awesome, they were never there for very long. Either way it's going to be sort of awkward considering how young 11 looks and, well, is. I mean, what, are they going to have Luke Smith be his new companion? I doubt it. But hey, I'm all for giving actors the benefit of the doubt; there are some young actors out there who are very talented.

In other fandom news:

I haven't watched this season of SGA that much, but I had to explain the last episode to my mother. She tends to forget that Alternative Universe/Timeline episodes are a staple of Stargate. SGA has at least one every season. Let's see, there's been Home, Before I Sleep, Aurora (sort of), Epiphany (sort of..time dialtion), The Real World, McKay and Mrs. Miller, Phantoms (sort of, you know, false memories), Echoes (sort of...time travel memories), Doppelganger (sort of...evil dream Sheppard), The Seer, This Mortal Coil/Be All My Sins Remember'd (sort of...Replicator Team), The Last Man, and now Vegas. Why anyone is surprised by the AU episode, I do not know. There's been one every season. Maybe b/c it's the second to last show ever, but hey, look at SG-1, ten years of that show and season 10 as much as I did love it (b/c yes, I adore Vala and Mitchell), had a bunch of throw-away episodes. I'd actually quite like to watch "Vegas" since I am a CSI fan, or was until the most recent seasons of both CSI and CSI: NY, which are now dead to me (NY more so than CSI), but I'm waiting for the dvd release.

My mother bought me two more books in The Dresden Files series for Christmas, and I am still loving it. Just my type of attitude.

I still cannot bring myself to read Sherrilyn Kenyon's Silent Night, even though I've had the book for awhile. I did read the Fury story in Dead After Dark and quite liked it, if only b/c I adore Vane, Fury, Fang and Bride and love to read more about the Sanctuary crew. I love Colt, even though we know next to nothing about him, I love Colt like I love Sundown. Also, there was a Zarek appearance in the story and Zarek remains one of my favorite Dark-Hunters. I wonder if Phobos will ever get his own story, I'd quite like to read that tale too. Of course, the annoying part is that the story is part of an anthology and I really don't care about the other writers in it, but hey, I will make this sacrifice for my favorite wolf-boys.

After three weeks off I started playing "Kingdom Hearts" again and still cannot believe how much I suck at this game. Honestly, it's been about a year since I really played anything, but this is just getting more and more bad. I feel so old and wonder how the heck kids manage to play this game. I am amused that you never really "die" though. We can't have "death" in a Disney video game.

I actually started writing again last night, not much, but some. Hopefully I'll get the damn story finished before the actual "Hobbit" movie comes out.
