Free to good home: Nearly complete set of videotapes of the X-Files, seasons 1-8, medium quality. Otherwise, they're probably going to be thrown out rather than wasting the space and carting them to Virginia. I also have tapes of S6 & 7 Buffy

This book [Thomas J. Peters and Robert H. Waterman Jr., In Search of Excellence: Lessons from America's Best-Run Companies] sounds very interesting. Thanks for recommending it, I plan to buy it.
I am still undecided whether I shall buy and read the book by Katherine Frank, G-Strings and Sympathy: Strip Club Regulars and Male Desire. My marginal acquaintance with the subject was mostly depressing, but I would be interested in reading this from the perspective of an anti-pornography feminist since I started out like that (an anti-pornography feminist) and still believe that most people who work in that business are deeply damaged and unhappy.
...whether one's relationship to books is chaste and respectful or sensual and abusive.
That is a beautiful and very accurate way to describe the different kinds of readers who love books. But I have known a guy, a former friend, I might add, who took books on a holiday and threw away the parts he had already read. Unfathomable to me, since I can understand giving books away but I have too much respect for books to ever just throw one out.
